  • Best screen?

Bought a cheap £120 screen online for my new sim but having some issues with bounce backs any recommendations for a good screen that won’t bounce back that doesn’t need anything behind it beside an air gap? Cheaper the better but want decent quality thanks very much

IMO impact screens like hitting mats are things where you really get what you pay for. That said, if bounce back is the only issue with your screen perhaps trying to adjust the bungees may help. Loosening them (or even reducing the number used) may help with this.

I use the Par2Pro SQ screen. Mine came finished with velcro around the edges and holes for attaching bungees but you can also get it in a RAW (unfinished) format in various sizes. I find it excellent in every respect with very little bounce back and super quiet.

    Good Luck

I’m new to the forum. I am also looking for information about impact screens. You don’t mention what projector you use or the resolution. I am currently using an impact screen from Cimarron Sports that is 10’x10’. Under $300. It’s been a good screen and I have no bounce back issues. I’m in the process of upgrading my projector and the screen as well. The projector I’m looking at is 3840x2160, and 4000 lumens. The picture looks good. I’m hoping (I guess!) to get a better image with a more expensive screen?? Good luck! I’m going to check out the screens mentioned above.

I'm also in the market for the 2024 best screen available. Through a little research it looks like carls premium or par2pro sq. Any updated info would be great.

Your bounceback issue has more to due with your tension on the screen than the "quality" of the screen. Per jasonreg's comments, try adjusting the tension on your screen, a little less tension might just do the trick for you. The quality will have more impact on how the image looks and how well it wears.

I've had Carl's premium 2x and dbgolf straight from the mill 1x. Both have been great for me. I'm currently using dbgolf screen and protecting hitting area with 2.5 ft wide strip from one of my Carl's premium screens. I'm pretty sure I'll never wear my dbgolf screen out with this method.

When choosing a screen you dont want to go cheap because:

Picture quality, low-quality screens surface is not good for producing HD picture. Also they let through a lot of light, making you image washed out.
I had a customer, who noticed even 30% better picture after changing screen to premium one. He was not using cheap screen before, there are a lot of low-quality screens at premium price point.

Noice reduction and bounce back. Premium screen reduces impact sound a lot. when using quality screen, loudest thing is contact ball to club, not ball to screen. Also as they are thick and soft, they absorb ball very well, only thing that can be a reason for bounce back is too much tension.

Durability. Premium screens can be even few times more durable then low-quality ones. I have my screen at commercial set up for a third season, and the only usage seen on screen is dirt marks.
I tested smth stupid like "quad" screen, it lasted not a full season...
When choosing golf impact screens, check all little details for quality. For example if eyelets are put to screen material, they will come out in no time, because screen fabric is a bit stretchy. Usually it is done like that to reduce cost, and it is easier to manufacture than adding extra fabric tape, to hold eyelet.

If you are in Europe, would be happy to consult and provide with premium screens. Also will do a discount for this forum members. Check out my website:

                  I hope it was helpful,

                  Tomas
