Its perfect.
thick roll of Matt suit material.
I hemmed the ends so no fraying
prototyped the loops with an old sheet to get hang size and loops
then used industry stapler to connect to 2” roof batons
only flop shots go up there, it stops them dead and ball drops down
it looks great as well really frames everything.
good luck.

Thanks for the details. Is the first loop at the screen attached to the black trim above the screen with velcro? Then 3 or 4 batons running in the same line as the screen and the loops. In theory, if a ball was thrown straight up could it potentially hit a hard section when the material is stapled to a baton? But in practice balls rebound at an angle off the screen or directly from a flop shot so do balls tend to hit a low hanging loop at an angle and plenty fabric to kill the ball speed till it drops?

No not connected to black trim, as I wanted trim removable so if I ever purchase a wuxga projector the trim can be moved up.
Obviously straight up you could hit a baton but we hit at most 60 degrees, and any energy on the ball it totally reduced by the fabric and it just drops to the gallon rebounding....just like you said.
never hit the front loops , flops usually hit the trim or first. Loop st the back and go up.

Have you needed to add any padding to the ceiling for high loft wedge shots?
-
Mark_Winkler I have a net for the ceiling that I have not used because I have only had 3 or 4 shots hit the ceiling. I generally try to lay off hitting a big flop shot--or just move closer to the screen to hit them.

My garage simulator setup. Carls place pro enclosure 10 x 10 x 10. Fiberbuilt combo mat system 10 x 16. JVC NZ3 4K 3000 lumen projector. GC2. CUK computer with Nvidia 2080TI video card, I9, 1TB SSD drive. TGC 2019. I have to drive 2 vehicles over the Fiberbuilt combo mat with my Ford F150 and my wife's Cadillac XT4. This mat is great and the tires do not leave any impressions or marks on the mat and the mat does not move. I am able to pull side curtains up so that I can drive my vehicles in the garage after golfing.
I cover the mat with a 12 x 16 heavy mil tarp to keep moisture away after snow or rain.1 PhotoLast edited by sonman; 03-15-2022, 05:51 PM.

TPC Sawgrass Hole 17. Carl's pro golf enclosure and Fiberbuilt combo 12x16 mat. JVC NZ3 3000 Lumen 4k projector. GC2 and TGC 2019. Camera is a little out of focus but you get the idea.

Garage simulator build video in Landscape view. Changed from pitching wedge to gap wedge and ended up short. I cover the turf with 12 x 16 foot heavy mil tarp when I am done to keep moisture and snow off the turf. I Live in South Dakota. Sonny's courses all created using Lidar and Chad's tools: Most courses can be found searching for Sonny's Sonnys Willow Run, Sonnys Praire Green, Elmwood Golf Couse, Spring Creek golf Course, Valley View Freeman, The lakes golf course, Westward Ho CC, Minnehaha country Club, Bakker Crossing, Sonnys Brandon Golf course, Grand Falls, Madison, and more Just pulled both car and truck off the mat and as you can see no marks or indentations left by tires. This Fiberbuilt combo golf mat and rubber underlayment that comes with it, rocks. I had previously used interlocking 24x24x1 exercise mats under my turf and that would move around and dent with the tires. Carls pro enclosure with 2" EMT steel conduit for frame is Heavy duty. I will eventually do a video of just the underlayment that comes with the turf. Carls enclosure comes with the side and top curtains in black to stop the errant shots and the high lob wedge shots. I did put some 3 inch memory foam mattress toppers on top of the enclosure just in case. I don't know that I necessarily needed to do that. I did not attach the side curtains to the bottom EMT pipe so that I could pull the curtain up and towards the back so I could get me vehicles in the garage. One can easily slide the EMT into the bottom of the curtains before golfing. I use tarp clips and ball bungees attached to the front of the side curtains to pull the side curtains tight before starting a round. That only takes a second to do and makes for a fast take down. You can see two ball bungees on the EMT on the right of the video.I have to pull up the curtain on the right because my gas heater is in the corner. As you can see I am right handed and my friends are also. If we hit an errand shot it is usually to the right. I let the left curtain hang down only about a third of the way towards the left front side of the sim. Carls enclosure also comes with the top, bottom and side cushions attached to the screen by velcro on all sides and the side curtains so that the ball does not go through anywhere on the front of the enclosure. The JVC NZ3 laser projector is rated at 3000 lumens and 20000 hours of life. You can have a lot of light and still see the screen. I generally golf two 18 hole courses with a neighbor which takes about 3 hours. I do that 2x a week. 52 weeks in a year multiplied 6 hours a week would be about 300 hours a year. 300 hours a years multiplied by 20 years would only be about 6000 total hours. Unlike DLP bulbs, the laser light does not diminish after about half of the rated length of the life of the projector. I do have the benq 4K projector on order only because it is 5000 lumens. I don't think I really need it but.....
