  • Is anyone happy with their Full Swing Simulator?

I am very disappointed with my Full Swing Simulator and just wondering if I am the only one out there? Would love to hear from someone that likes their FSG setup.

I paid over $90K for the FSG Sim and a Swing Catalyst setup this summer and it has just been one big let down. They provided me with an old version of the E6 software from TruGolf, but it is a version of E6 that was released in 2007 and is pretty limited and no longer supported (enhanced). What they touted as their new Simulator software Full Swing Golf (FSG) is not much more than a Beta version.

    FSG Issues:
    • No ability to set the elevation on the driving range
    • Doesn't appear that elevation is factored in to any of the course configurations
    • Golf Ball is shown as square instead of round (think the old Pong Game)
    • No pin shown when you set your range target to a green, so your hitting to a target that is the size of a green with no finer target than that
    • No integration with the Swing Catalyst, even though they sold me both systems
    • Trees, Rocks, Sand is not factored into the sim, so you can hit your ball right thru a tree or a rock and you can putt out of the sand if you wish

I’m a new FSG owner. I’ve got a few complaints but I’ve read complaints about every system. To answer someone question. We spent a lot of money on FSG thinking we were getting a great product but more importantly it’s like hitting the easy button. They build the sim for you. Yes, you can save money by building it out yourself but if you have no experience in building out a golf sim it’s nice to have a company come in and do it all for you. The enclosure, the screen, the hitting mats, projector and computer are included and I wanted to make sure it worked and was designed to maximize my space. I don’t have a lot of the problems Wimbledon had so I guess things got fixed. I don’t like that there no sound integration with the FSG courses and some other probs. It is accurate and the instant ball flight are great selling points for FSG and why I was willing to pay a premium. I’m not that impressed with the graphics. There are a lot of very happy FSG owners as I hear from them in the FullSwing Facebook group.

My Honest opinion on full swing is its great when it works. Which is the troubling part.

There was a windows update that made the system useless. I helped a friend called tech support and they blamed me and that I shouldn't do software updates.

Months later they released a patch to fix this. Also the photo-diode arrays seem to always break. So in certain areas it doesn't detect the ball.

Gets really frustrating for the price my Friend payed.

Having finally calibrated my SwingTrack (now Full Swing) system, I can now comment on this thread with some confidence. I do not have the Full Swing simulator software, only E6 1.6, so I cannot comment on those issues.
However, The club capture camera is money, and is pretty eye opening, as illustrates just how poor my swing is. LOL! I am happy with the simulator, so far, and enjoy playing the courses and practice options offered by E6.

I will probably be left to try to locate the calibration utility software that allows a live look into the camera view myself. I already cracked the password for the "OTS" system, that I thought would give me the access I needed to the camera, since it was password protected, but it did not.
So far, it seems they are big on selling these exquisite, expensive systems, but not so big on post sale support. Granted I inherited the system, but would be willing to spend some $ in tech support services, if it existed.
I have never had an issue with full swing support, that part of my experience has always been spectacular. I just recently had them recalibrate and the metrics and quality of the data is improving pretty drastically. A year ago, there was a huge draw bias on my system, and with updates over the last 12 months, that has really gone away... I am now definitely confident in the data and the tracking.

I'm still baffled about the altitude situation, they built it for courses, but not for the range. I have no idea who would make a decision like that, first it is backwards, but second if you build the feature, just make it available... It's just math.

I really like the new short game area and target areas for practice... I am spending less time in e6 and more time in full swing each month.

I did finally get someone to contact me and resolve my license issue. He was extremely helpful and answered all my questions.

What ever happened with your situation? Did the company help resolve your issues?
