Do we have a new launch monitor here?

just watching a YouTube video and saw a commercial for the monitor that I never heard of. I went online to check and to my surprise they seem to be in my backyard (or very close). Price seems pretty good as well at Cdn $6k. Anyone else heard of this company?

more competition in this area is always welcome.

Looks like it only calculates spin instead of measures it. Pretty big deal when you compare to a GC2 or Uneekor

They don’t seem to use the best wording on their site, but this would definitely be something to confirm with them if one were interested.

It has a real catchy name!

      Hopefully it never sells. LOL

Impressive, if it is ready... Seems to be produced, created by a company that offers indoor studios for playing. That would be the best kind of company you want to develop a new Launch Monitor as they have all that background already!

WizGolf Okotoks has opened its doors in 2019. We offer a year-round indoor golf experience. With large HD screens equipped with auto tee-up and state-of-the-art technology, take your game to the next level!

It will be important to find out what is measured and what’s calculated. High price for calculated data if that’s the case.

Well, I could just drive down (30 minutes) and ask them in person.

That would be awesome Cruisin. Head to head with Quad would be great. Is this unit side launch monitor or ceiling?

From the images on the site, it's an overhead unit. Looks similar, albeit smaller, to the Uneekor.

Anyone look into this further? I'm going to go check it out soon. I live in Calgary. My assumption, a lot of calculation. Looks similar to the unit at Screen golf.

Wow - I wish someone up here would test it out against anything... it's up on their online shop at $5,500 and I believe that's CAD? (Canadian dollars):

            Cruisin1966 or Bubba22 - any chance?

It says it's $5550 US. close to $7000 CA
Did anyone get a chance to compare? Since I'm in Calgary, I'll message them and I can bring my GCQuad to compare.
I'm looking for a ceiling unit, it's always exciting to try something new!

Let us know how it goes... really curious on accuracy and find out what type of software integrations there are please.

              Thanks,

Interesting. They claim to measure spin axis and partially calculate spin. Doesn’t that seem odd? Even the term partial calculated seems odd.

The best I could make from that was if it's taking a series of images then extrapolating the RPM, it's partially calculated rather than directly measured.

                Giving benefit of the doubt.

                Edit: stupid phone keyboard.

This actually looks like a nice overhead setup. It needs just 8.5ft H, and 4ft behind the ball. I wonder if it would work with 8ft to the camera lens top? I'm adding it to my wish list but I would like to hear about other's experiences with it first.

Played at Simtopia here in Calgary a few weeks ago, they had the WIZ in their simulator rooms.

I didn't have a unit to compare to but I've been using a QED pretty much daily for a year and there's no way the WIZ is measuring spin. Spin axis was all over the map and total spin with all clubs never got above 5k RPM even with a premium ball.
