  • I got SLX-Connect working on Linux

I've been playing around with a new Docker container tool called WinBoat. Basically it runs Windows10-11in a docker container and makes the setup super easy. Winboat is over on github and the latest release is pretty easy to install and get going. If you have an old Title-X you need to go to Swinglogic's website and see if you can find the firmware upgrade for it. That will turn it into the equivilant of the SLX Microsim 1.0 and give it a new bluetooth ID of an SLX device. Once you have that piece you can download the SLX-connector. It's a nice piece of software with a simple driving range and data panel and it shows all you swing metrics with lables so you can see what is measured (D = data) and what is computed (C = computed). I have always been amazed at how close they seemed to have gotten with this data to other LMs. Second it has it's own 18Hole simulation (not the best graphics) and the third panel has your professional simulators E6, GSPro, Creative Golp and the connectors for them. GSPro connects via the OpenAPI interface. So I connected a 5.4 Bluetooth to my USB on Linux and enabled the experimental USB passthrough for Winboat. Installed the software on Windows 11 (running under Winboat) and got the whole thing to work. So now, At least I have a swingstick and it's software running (as a virtual machine instance) on Linux to get me through those cold days of winter when it's just to cold to go the garage.
