  • TheGolfClub game

So, I was checking out the PP site and found this:

I am not sure if this is the right place to put this, but WOW. Can you imagine if this engine made it into a simulator?

Perhaps you guys can post in the thread above and add a link to this place. Also mention that we have both Protee and GC2 players. And TheGolfClub game would be awesome for our tour, etc...

Hi All, Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. I have done 4 courses so far for TGC, all from a blank canvas. Here are links to the galleries I have posted. Flint Ridge has been in the top 30 rankings since last month, Iron horse in the top 100.I think the others are on par but there are over 3000 courses in the download area, much of them crap made with the course generator only.Hopefully this will get integrated with the Protee in the future. See you all in the fall.

Your courses look great Craig. Among those available for download, have you seen any great replicas of championship courses such as Saw Grass, Augusta, Pebble, etc...

So one of the guys behind Protee Play is posting videos of The Golf Club game? What gives?

Dennis I hope your input device for that video was a Protee system??????

Z, yes there are about 6 versions of Augusta, a couple of Sawgrass and Pebble beach. Problem is elevations and slopes are just a guess as are green sizes, bunker locations...etc. Perfect Parelllel will allow importing of Topographical data and Satellite photography.Real courses should be much more accurate. That is of course if they ever release it .

It means the official announcement might not be too far behind. I just hope the integration goes smooth and fast so it can be ready by the start of the upcoming Winter League.

Cool. PP is making slow progress. They don't have a big team or the big money that HB Studios have. but once it's released...

Awesome! Here's hoping it's priced right. There's no reason it shouldn't be, given that I bought the PC version for $30.

Is it too early to start speculating about the price HB will charge for the Protee/simulator version?

There are so many nice courses already out there, and the designers are getting better (yes, as I said there is a lot of crap also) The nice thing is the rating system, it lets you weed through the software generated courses that were made in 5 minutes with no love. The real gems are usually the courses from scratch that guys have poured 20 + hours into.

I may need to "soften" up my courses a bit if Protee does get integrated. Nothing drastic, maybe smooth a few greens and widen some fairways. TGC interface is so easy if played with a gamepad or mouse that -20 is routine. Naturally, designers tend to make their courses a bit tougher to create a challenge.

Yes, this is awesome for Protee 2.0 owners. No idea on the price yet, but I think the days of paying $2K for one course are over. :cheer:

Yes, definitely widen those fairways a bit more for simulator use.
