These are the tricks that we need to know. I seen a wall made from a line of dead tree trunks (there is a brush) but it was a rather tall wall. Wonder what that would look like in water at the right depth. Key is to make sure the ball will not get stuck in a crack and lock up the system.

yeah, Tastegw did that with the Boreal theme, they are dead trees stacked up side by side on one of his courses. Problem is you cant move them below water table level and even the smallest size is too big. I believe HB is working on some objects for wood retaining walls and maybe railroad ties.

Is it possible to create a course on one pc then transter it to the sim pc? I assume i would have to download the software to both pcs. Is it possible to download just the course editor to a pc for the build purpose? Cheers.

I have just started trying to learn how to create courses and it takes a bit of time playing with the brushed and finding out what they do.

You can buy the steam version for the PC for cheap ($35 -$40) and then you have an updated version all the time and play holes as you make them. You also could ask Protee to give you a 2nd licence but this one you may not be able to play. Download a sim version on a 2nd computer to create courses. I could not play on the laptop where I installed it. Now I have the Steam version and can play that one as I work on it. Only issue is to make sure that you are using a theme that the sim version has. They just updated that version so we should have the new theme now.

From there once you create a course and save it on you working PC, then follow the info above with the location that those courses are saved in. They do not save with the same name you called it but rather a bunch of numbers and letters. If you only have one saved then you will know that is the one you want. You can pull that file out and copy it to move to the sim PC and then it will show there and you then publish it from the Sim PC.

I figured out that if you want to save a version of the course you are working on at a point where you may want to go back to, you can do a similar thing with copying that file and paste it in a folder and name the folder what it is. If you ever mess up the one you are working on you can delete it from the file and drag the other version back and it will be at the same point it was when you pasted it into that other folder.

For starters make one hole and play it to see what it looks like on the sim as things seem to be narrower or look different that you thought while creating it and greens can get too sloped easily so not too much needed there. Also watch where you place pins so they are fair. Also settings for the green speed and fairway firmness seem best at about the 12 o-clock position and keep your lighting so that shadows are at a min so 12 noon for the time and don't have weird angles so the sun is in your eyes. You can't play the sim as well with those effects.

Thank you SFR. Just what I needed. I will buy the steam version and create my home course and hopefully be able to play on the sim pc. Does it need to be published to play on the sim?

If you just want to play it your self to test you don't need to publish so just dragging that course file onto the Sim computer will let you go to the create course are and find that course and then play any hole or all of them. Nice for testing out one hole. Also can play from here, which will let you start off at where you have made your selection.

If you want to play with more than one person you need to publish it and that needs to be published from the sim computer (Protee Version) for it to show up and after that anyone can play it.

Best is to name it with numbers when testing and when you are done and want a final version, then name it what you want it to be seen as.
