Do any of you guys fool around with the camera settings accessible by hitting the F9 key?
IMHO a lot of courses in TGC look better from the tee when viewed from a slightly higher viewpoint than the default settings.
Of course you can change the default main camera in the Settings (Display-->Main Camera Preset) but none of first three are high enough and the fourth points down at the golfer (probably a leftover from the console game for watching your avatar swing).
Anyway, I've raised the fourth preset to look out level into the fairway rather than down at the golfer. This modified higher view provides a whole new perspective that really makes some holes sing!
If you are the experimenter type and want to try it then here's how:
1) Hit F9
2) Click on PreShotCamera Settings (might have to click on the Game Camera Settings first)
3) Change Look Offset Y to 3.655 from the default value of 2 (move the slider). This tilts the camera back up to roughly level. It's a slider so not super precise. I aim for a value somewhere between 3.5 and 4 and usually get 3.655 for some reason..
4) Hit F9 again to exit.
5) Make sure the Main Camera Preset on the normal Settings defaults to FOUR so the modified view becomes the default.
Remember the V key cycles through the four possible views if you want to temporarily change to a different view.
Personally I wish this was the setup for Main Camera Preset #4 (or a fifth gets added). Camera views/behaviour are the real UI in a golf game so you can never get enough ability to tailor them!
