TGC Online Play & Adding Friends

TGC Online Play:

To connect online you first have to decide on which golf course to play, as there is no lobby yet. Once on the tee box, you need to connect with your friend(add Live friends to the game).

1. Hit the ESC key
2. Make sure Turn Order is enabled
3. Click on Change Rivals
4: Click on Friends Live
5. Select the friend to add to your game. Important: You may need to Scroll down the list until you find the player(s) you want to add.
5. Click on Back, then click on Resume Game
6. All the players that you added to your game should show up on your screen as Live.
7. All players can now tee off. After a few shots, all players will be synced to each other.
8. Online play will now be turn based.

NOTE: Do not use Active Friends to add Live players

Adding Friends:

In order to have Live players show up in the Change Rivals/Friends Live screen, we need to add each other to our Friends list in the SDK dashboard. Perform the steps below.

Everybody, on your SDK dashboard, click on my profile, then click on the 3 person icon under Home icon on the left. When you change your nickname or when you go into the friends system, you will be added to the database. Internet connection is required for this to work. Then you'll be able search for friends(alias) and add them to your friends list. This is needed for playing online.

I consider myself to be very computer literate, but this is much harder than it needs to be. Here is what my TGC dashboard looks like for Skytrak. I can't even select the friends tab on the left and when I click on my profile it says that I'm "unregistered". When I type in my TGC handle and hit save, it says something to the effect of invalid license key, etc. Any suggestions?

try clicking on the "license" button and putting in the same license that you entered into the skytrak launcher app. that should enable the friends tab.

I know Vincent I tried to add you as a friend and it said "no results" along with like 20 others that I know are always on the forum, I have asked PROTEE a couple times on getting instructions out to us that are up to date and not as old as this thread which is obsolete as this game has evolved with updates and can be used to join games talk with others in that game and adding friends that I can not send invites for, I still have not heard anything from them and hope that they are working on it as they said its on there list to do and put this as a priority and let us know where they are at in the process and get this out soon.

Ok, glad I'm not the only one. As for my license... I have the same one entered in from when I first bought TGC. I would think that if my license key truly wasn't correct, then I wouldn't be able to play TGC at all. I'll double check it though and make sure it's the same as the one I received in those initial setup emails.

Check your liscence and machine ID. Looks to m like one of those are not right.

The TGC Interface you are looking at right now was build for everything else but SkyTrak. SkyTrak has its own interface which does not have the friends system implemented.
Try to paste your license key into the license section. When accepted you can use the friends system.

Thanks Bubba, Inorkuo and Protee. That did the trick. I just assumed that my license key copied over when I installed TGC from the interface to the dashboard. That's what I get for assuming. I'm guessing if someone doesn't show up in the friends tab search, it means they haven't copied and pasted their license key over either.

I tried to copy both my licence key that was in the initial emails and the licence key in the settings for tgc and neither allow me to get past the invalid licence key. Any suggestions??

just added you, all forum members please look at your friend requests once in a while and accept these have some that have accepted but a majority have yet to do so, this is a pretty cool feature as you can challenge friends on courses that they have played and see who is live on TGC.

lefty you are showing no results go to groups and go through the group play threads there is instruction in there for skytrak owners

Searched for my match play opponent Cklguy2013 and he doesn't show up.. does that mean he is on skytrak and needs to copy the license key over?

So played 9 with Boo & 18 with Tony... both great guys.. had an awesome time...this is a phenomenal idea... really brings the feeling of golf into it.. talking to guys as it is rolling out is fun.. good shot... bad shot.. who cares... this is gonna make Michigan winters doable... even if Tony tried to wear me out at 7300 for round 2.5 today... this works so well... highly impressed!!! The Discord app is great...
