When will the simulator version be ready for sale, any ideas yet Zmax, Bubba?

      Thanks,

Putting is pretty good. We use 5' to save time. At 5'2", you'll miss the putt if you push or pull it slightly. Putting on ProTee is the best in town. I hope TGC is just as good.

If testing and bug fixes go fast, TGC could be ready by early Oct.

For the sims for my business I bought 4 computers from ibuypower. They all run TGC flawlessly at the highest settings. Only had 1 course impact the framerate noticeably. I don't remember it's name, but it had a ridiculous amount of trees and flora. I'm talking like 50+ trees piled up within a 10 yard area. Was a terrible course. Anyway, here are the specs of the computers I bought. I managed to keep them under $1000 each not including shipping. They're complete overkill for ProTee Play and handle modern games very well.

1 x Case Raidmax Horus Gaming Case - Black
          1 x Processor AMD FX-8350 CPU (8x 4.00GHz/8MB L3 Cache)

          1 x Memory 8 GB [4 GB X2] DDR3-2133 Memory Module - Corsair or Major Brand
          1 x Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 - 2GB - Single Card

            Thanks Richard,

This is exactly what I was looking for! I could probably drop down to a 500GB, or even 350GB hard drive.

Where did you pickup your projectors and which models were they?

I'm hoping they add a few features for the sim version before releasing it. Things like:

-choosing which clubs are in your bag
-setting time of day, course conditions, weather, pin location, etc.
-basically any of the features Protee Play already has

Choosing clubs in your bag for each player is the deal breaker for me. Drove me nuts checking out the E6 demo and I couldn't change the available clubs in the club menu. I don't carry a 5 wood or lob wedge and I have a 1 & 3 hybrid. It's very important to me that I can choose those clubs specifically in the sim software when I want to use one.

EDIT: BTW, Brett, I went with BenQ 1080ST projectors for my business. Very good price;quality ratio. The lumens are a tiny bit low for a commercial setting, but hopefully the higher quality screens I ordered will help make up for that.

Perfect, thanks for doing the research, I'll get to see them when your simulator opens, soon :woohoo:

Wow, it seems if I drop to 720 the similar short-throw model can be had for about 1/2 the price.

                Here's the full list

                  Brett,

It makes no sense to run TGC at highest detail on a top of the line PC, then display it on a 720 projector.

Servers are being created. Hoping to start testing next week. If we test, I'll stream it on Twitch.

Btw, we'll only be able to play against other TGC sim players since we'll not be connecting to HB servers. But most of the courses will be mirrored to the ProTee servers. Not sure how that will all work yet.

Most of the courses? How will they determine which courses? Not liking the sound of this.

Sounds like they don't want to mirror all 10K+ courses. If space is not an issue, maybe they will do all the courses. Is there a way to filter user created courses vs generated courses?

Not currently, lots of regulars asking for that on forum. This stinks, 9900 of the 10000 courses are crap

We'll see how things work once we start testing.

Protee rep. On HB forum States you will be able to design and play your own courses. When asked "so this means I will be able to design and play my own courses" Protee replied "yep".

Some unknowns at this point Craig, until we start testing. We know most courses created by PC and consoles will get mirror for us to use, but will courses created on the sim version on Protee servers be seen by PC and consoles ?

Perhaps we can push Protee to mirror all courses? Maybe Protee can answer some of these questions.
