    Here is what will happen..

There are currently 20.000 courses available. This number is growing every day. PC and Console players are creating courses in the game enviroment.

The Golf Club Simulator will have its own servers which will NOT be connected to the "gaming" servers. This means you will NOT be able to play with console and pc "gamers". You can only play against a simulator user (any brand using the SDK) that uses The Golf Club Simulator as software package.

We will NOT copy all 20.000 courses to the Simulator servers. We will make a first selection of some of the best looking courses. We might be using the rating system for that to help us select the better ones.

Every X months we will check the new courses created on the "game" servers and copy the good ones to the Simulator servers so you can play them. You will also get the chance to send us a list of good courses so we can copy these as well at the same time. If you already have a list, start a new thread list

Thanks for answering those questions Dennis.

I will start a thread for TGC favorite courses where we can keep a list of all the courses we want copied over to the Protee servers.

Thanks Dennis. do you have any idea how many courses will be mirrored? As long as you sort by "all time " course ratings and not by weekly /monthly. I think top 1000 all time rated courses would be doable? My garage Sim computer will not be used for design. Will I be able to design on a second computer in my home?

Craig, just continue designing course on the PC version, then post it's name in the favorite courses thread. I'll make sure it gets copied ASAP.

Question.... If we buy the Protee software to play TGC with our setup (GC2 or Protee or ???)

Are we able to play on our own, not on line, any course we want or want to design?

Or will we only be able to play a course that is on the Protee Server?

Will playing off line on our own need an internet hookup in order to play TGC?

I understand not wanting to have 20,000 courses on the server and that number will get massive once this takes off, but it would be nice if we can have any course to play when off line on our own.

Anyone watch TV lately? 1000 channels and nothing worth watching.
Sounds like this is heading the same way. What sense is there having access to 20,000 courses???
I'd agree with Dennis that a "favourites list" is the way to go.
                My 2 cents!

SFR brings up a great point. Will we be downloading local copies of each course from the server? Can we just manually copy courses ourselves and play them?

Correct me if I'm wrong, According to HB, the game makes copies of courses that you play(not sure how many)on you PC along with the HB official courses so you can play them offline.

The courses that you create stay offline until you publish them?

                      Yes,

I also need to know the answers to this:
Question.... If we buy the Protee software to play TGC with our setup (GC2 or Protee or ???)

Zmax, you say the copies are kept locally, does that mean the SIM version will work exactly the same way? We're needing to know, as playing our local/home courses are part of the attraction!

                      Thanks,
                      -Brett

Ok, let me see if I understand your question. If your computer is connected to the internet, you'll be able to play any course on the Protee server, by yourself or against others online.

With no internet connection, you're limited to some HB official courses and some recently played courses I think. As for your created courses, perhaps Craig can answer this question by putting his game in offline mode? Maybe he can only play the ones he hasn't published, while in offline mode(no internet connection)?

If offline the only courses you can play are the bundled courses and any unpublished courses you are working on. The later comes in handy for checking playability of a new design in high wind conditions. In the design mode winds are always 1mph when playing through course no matter what. In offline mode you can play your designed courses in a random wind.

Correction, there were 9 additional courses available to play in my offline play list, looks like the last few courses played are stored indeed.

We are talking with several Golf Simulator manufacturers about connecting their systems with The Golf Club Simulator. This will be awesome! ProTee owners, brand X owners, brand Y owners, brans Z owners, etcetera will be able to play with or against eachother online. Sharing courses, playing tournaments, socialize and more...

                              Exciting stuff!

                                That should be possible.
