    The Golf Club Game

There might be some confusion with the term "online".

The Golf Club Game is a cloud based system. User data, shot recording, stats and courses are all stored in "the cloud". To access this information you need to have an internet connection. All courses in "the cloud" are ready to play. You can play these by yourself on your own simulator, with friends on your own simulator, or you play them "online" with others (like we now have online play in ProTee Golf 2.0).

If you do not have an internet connection, you will not be able to play the courses stored in the cloud. You can then only play the courses that ship with the game. You can not play with others "online".

The courses you design are stored on your computer. You can play these on your computer. When you click the publish button, the course will be copied to "the cloud" so others connected to "the cloud" will be able to play your course as well.

Not sure if this helps, but let me know if you have any questions..

I'm not sure about this. At the moment I do not think they will show up in the course list when you disconnect your internet link. You can check this behaviour in the game. We will check this also.

      Correct.

        Dennis,

Craig confirmed last night that when there's no internet connection, you can only play the official bundled HB courses and a few user created courses that you had previously played while you had internet connection.

Yes, I noticed you can play the "boxed" HB courses. I did not know you can play courses you previously played when there is no internet connection. If so then great. I will verify this with HB.

Wow...this is the future!! So, if I want to start creating my home course I need to purchase TGC via STEAM, then get to work. But, I can not play the actual game on PT until a future date? And, I will have to pay a fee for the TGC/PT version at that time? Last, when I manage to create a custom course I may be able to publish it to the cloud so others can try it out?

              Lots to digest!!

Yeah, CV. I believe that's all accurate. It's all in these forums though.

Also, most people would rather do the course creation on a different pc instead of the working in the sim room, so might as well get the Steam version in addition to the TGC sim version.

Once you publish your course on the Steam version, post the course name in the favorite courses thread so it will get copied to the Protee TGC servers. http://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum/...e-courses-list

Not sure if you guys know, but in TGC, You can customize your golfer anyway you like. i.e change gender, shirt color, hats, gloves, etc... And when playing online, when it's your turn, the other players will see the character that you created and you will see theirs when it's their turn. This is pretty cool. Unlike with ProTee where everybody uses the same character.

That is cool! You can change the ProTee player but everyone would be the same. It might be fun to have the players in the group standing around so you can see who you are playing with. Really LOW priority but still.

Yes, that would be cool too. Perhaps that will happen some day.

TGC terrain penalty system is pretty cool. Every course uses the same labels. And the penalties are shown at the top right corner along with a picture of the ball and the lie. i.e. sand, rough, heavy rough, etc...

And the penalties are not a fixed amount. It's variable depending on the lie. If there's a lot of grass behind the ball and you're trying to muscle the ball out with a 3W, you're going to loose a lot of yards. Also, the lie penalty will be shown as a range. For example, if you're in heavy rough, it might say 70-90%, which means 30-10% penalty. Still not sure what it all means yet, but I like it.
