The short answer is no, the only time you have to select a club is when you want to putt and you're off the putting surface.. The game calls for a wedge and you have to select putter. Other than that your launch monitor is reading the ball flight and club selection does not matter.

Not sure which launch monitor you are using, but generally the only time it matters is when you do or do not want to hit a putt. Wedge, iron, wood are all just cosmetic. The club you choose in-game has no impact on your shot (besides putter).

Hi am new to tgc when it shows club selection do you have to change it to which club your going to use ? it recommends a 7 iron for 160 yds, but ineed to hit a 6 ?
