Muirfield Village mthunt RCR Lidar TGC2019

I have loaded a new course on both servers. Its called "Muirfield Village mthunt". This is done off of Lidar. It was one of the first tests that Chad sent me a long time ago. He gave me permission to publish it. There's 3 tees and 4 pins. There's another version of Muirfield out there but it's not good.

mthunt. Are those screenshots taken while running TGC1, as the upper left corner shows club distances and penalty %? My 2019 alpha does not show these. Course looks fantastic by the way

They are taken in TGC2019 designer.

mthunt. Correction on my post above, I meant to say upper right corner, not left. Just checked, I have 19 alpha sim version and it does not show the estimated carry for the club or penalty %. I checked in actual play and in designer test play, doesn't show up in either. Do u have 19 game version or sim version?

mthunt Looks great! You know it's good because it was created using Lidar! I've been following all the discussion of the lidar and course design. This is a game changer. Really looking forward to playing these lidar courses because it will have the real terrain exactly like the real course. Keep up the great work!

Couple comparison pics. Lidar is on point. I think the game needs the ability to use custom textures for the fairways, rough, etc to really nail the different courses looks and they should do away with that ring around the water that they add automatically.

One thing I hate it that you can't plant heavy rough down to the water's edge. It drives me nuts and makes no sense. The only thing you can do is plant Fescue. As far a fairway textures there's lots of options including mowing patterns.

@agreed. Why u can place regular rough but not heavy rough is beyond me.

You can place rough or heavy rough but it looks like crap with either.

Looks great! I’m working on my first course. When you post to both servers does that create duplicate versions? I realize if you post to protee only it won’t be available to the HB community. I’m sure this has been answered elsewhere but couldn’t find. Thanks!

What about the trick where you put a body of water in and lower it beneath the surface? That worked in tgc2 and I assumed it would still work in 2019.

I was a caddie at Muirfield for 7 years and think this is awesome! I've played it on JNPG plenty and know it is very accurate. It will be cool to compare on TGC 2019. I think having lidar is huge for adoption/sales of this game.

The water object comes with its own mandatory shoreline that is dirt. So sink that below ground and the forced shoreline will be subterrenean.

I know it used to work below the natural water level (sea level in the designer). Not sure if it works under another water object or even in the 2019.

Try experimenting with it though.

In 1, 2 and 2019 I tried and got the same results. If I move my brush to the water's edge to low the rock edge below water, it moves below water but when I click and move my brush away the rocky edge reappears above the water. It seems to lessen with less steep slope but that's it.
