  • Building a new simulator

Hello, we are 6 guys from Germany and we would like to build a golf simulator. I found this forum here and would like to avoid making mistakes when building it. Maybe you can give me a few tips on which components you would use. Since we are both left- and right-handed, we would like to avoid having to keep moving a device around. We have enough space. I have the following questions to get started.

    Which launch monitor is recommended?
Which software to use for driving range and golf courses?
Does it have to be 4k or is an HD experience also OK?
Which graphics card would you recommend for 4k?
Which projector is recommended for 4k or HD?
What else should I consider when using a projector?
What else should I look out for?

Thank you very much for your help.

What would you recommend to me? Protee or mevo+ Pro. What are the differences? Are the measurements comparable?

If your 2 choices are Mevo Plus and ProTee VX, go with the ProTee VX. I have both of them and started with the Mevo Plus. While it was decent for full shots, it struggled with short chips and putts. The ProTee VX excels with all shots and is a much better user experience. Set it up once and you're good. Whereas the Mevo Plus if it gets bumped you have to recalibrate it each time so can be a pain. Plus with the ProTee VX, it frees up all the room in behind that the Mevo Plus used to take up.
