  • Protee Ball Speed Value - Online Shot Statistics Clarification

    Hi,

This is related to the online shot stats and the value (bs - ball speed).

It is my understanding that in Protee the ball speed is "sensed" as the ball's shadow crosses the floor sensors. Given that this is measured along the x-axis (Vx), and that the ball is in flight on a vector (made up of the velocities of its Vx,Vy,Vz components), does Protee adjust the actual ball speed so it is the speed of the vector, or does it report the Vx speed?

If it reports the Vx speed, for example, then the actual initial ball speed would be, Vibs = sqrt(Vx^2 + (Vx*sin(LA))^2)

If ball speed is measured or sensed in some other way, any clarifications are helpful. My main interest is to create an accurate flight model that I can use to crunch the shot data.

    Thanks,
    Doug

    Yikes!!! My head hurts...

I think you best ask ProTee directly. They know the innards of their product.
