  • Why is this shot not straight?

    Hello.

I'm new to the Forum, and this is my first posting, so please forgive me if it's in the wrong place.

However, is anybody able to help explain this shot from SkytTrak+? It was hit with Club path, face to path, and face to target all at 0. So, in my amateur opinion, I would have expected it to go perfectly straight. However, there is a 580rpm side spin, and it has gone offline by 11 yards over 120 yards.

I do not know how, but it has calculated a side angle of 3.2 DEG.

    Any suggestions?

Because Skytrak is not good with club data. It is mostly, if not all calculated.

Your shot is almost impossible to create in real life. Zero degrees on path, face to path and face to target?

Your HLA started 3.2 degrees to left. That usually says your face was pointed that way, and thus, the ball started that way. Or, you likely have club gear effect, hitting it closer to the toe, making it curve left.

I agree with StalefishFS3, you should ignore the club data, it's pretty much made up. Not sure about the gear effect, that's usually pretty evident on a driver/3 wood, but not so much on irons. My understanding is if it's gear effect from being hit on the toe, the ball typically would start "rightish" and curve back the the left. More likely StalefishFS3's comment about the face pointing left is the cause.

        Thank you for the replies.

I have noticed from the graphic illustrations directly above the 0.0 DEG that they do not show it to be perfectly straight. The 0.0 DEG may be the error.
