I read that too and have been checking this forum every couple hours for an update like a crazy person. I guess I should get a life but Im in my honeymoon period with my Skytrak and excited to see the progress.
SkyTrak_Seth Yeah I found that while playing head to head the Skytrak License area on the TGC SDK kept going red causing the Skytrak LM to go (From Bottom. Green,Red,Red). Only fix was to restart TGC app from the beginning which includes the SDK... I had this happen on both sides of the system (I was using teamviewer to watch my fathers system while it happened).
NO Reads in TGC have gone up significantly immediately after the Skytrak firmware update as to where I used to have 1 out of every 75 I would say now it's 1 out of every 20 to 25. Again having two SkyTrak systems running on different PC's, different video cards, and different ISP's (One in California and one in Florida) so I highly doubt that it's PC/Network hardware related.
I fired up the SkyTrak 2.5.4 app and found most of the shots did in fact register but there are still NoReads mostly happening with hybrids agai this never before he firmware update.
I will be willing to run logs or do whatever I can to help work through these issues. The newest SDK did at least bring TGC back to being playable but no where near as much as it was prior to the firmware update. Just my honest opinion.
The only misreads I experience with my SkyTrak and TGC are on short putts. When I am just outside of gimmie range, (7-10 feet or so), I dread it. Yesterday I was playing my second round at Bay Hill, and ended up in that dreaded range a few times. I hit over 10 putts one time before it would register. The laser goes out for a second or so, then comes back on, but nothing.
I tried moving the ball back of the laser, forward of the laser, closer to the unit, nothing seemed like a fix. I don't have any issues with full shots or short chips. I just chalk it up to the fact that the SkyTrak wasn't really made for putting, but it can really be a pain when you're 8 feet away, and the only way you can get the unit to read the putt is if you hit it too hard.
I did, unfortunately, get sidetracked with some of the connectivity stuff, but as far as I can tell it appears to be resolved for the most part. The only guys that were super-helpful in letting me work with them were resolved quickly and didn't appear to be anything related to the last release. We are on final sign-off builds right now with v2.6 that includes something new in game improvement as well as some forum-requested features on the range. I think you'll be really happy with this one. I'll But keep in mind that even though my finger is on the button, I'm not the one who says 'go'. Just sayin.
frackh, Thanks for the reply and info. I have been emailing with Seth (@skytrak) to look at the concerns. It is a 2.4GHz WiFi. Hopefully Seth and the team can resolve this as we work through it.
frackh , indoor lighting realyl doesn't affect the unit at all. Lights on, lights off doesn't make much difference. Unless you have a light shining directly into the SkyTrak cameras, there shouldn't be much to worry about. It's more artifacts in the background like a metal hook, something white, etc that can glow in the image and make ball detection more difficult.
