Currently my setup is just a fiberbuilt flight deck recessed into ten 2x2 1" EVA tiles mounted to an MDF backer so I can disassemble the pieces. Since this is the first winter with the device and I was more interested in simply getting the simulator up and running, I wasn't prioritizing optimal conditions.
This spring, I intend to make it a more permanent and sophisticated construct with padded turf all the way up to the screen. I've seen the diagrams illustrating the importance of not having the Mevo+ elevated with a gulf between it and the screen, but nothing discussing an elevated hitting platform. I'm currently using the tee height in the app and the results are comparable to what I was getting outdoors last autumn but it would be nice to determine beforehand whether I need to purchase enough 1" EVA tiles to do the entire 18' length, or if I can keep my current hitting platform and place it atop the new turf section.
Anyone with information about this before I contact Flightscope?
