I just had a new custom gaming computer with a 3080 Ti GPU built to handle the higher processing load of FSX Play. It replaces an Omni HP Obelisk computer that had a 2080 Ti. I've been using FSX 2020 since it was released and FSX Play as soon as it was released.
In both cases, the audio has been via an optical out to a Yamaha SR-C20A soundbar. With the old HP computer, everything worked fine. With the new custom gaming PC with an optical port on the motherboard, the sound still works but now there is a new issue. When the ball impacts the ground on the screen, the sound of the ball's impact is delayed by about 1 second.
I've tried everything I can think of with drivers, BIOS settings, even putting in a new high-end sound card (Sound Blaster AE-7) to use instead of the onboard optical port. Audio from FSX Play works perfectly, no delay between the audio and video when a ball hits the ground. Other sources like a YouTube video sync just fine with audio and video... it's just in FSX 2020 that there is this latency. The only other variable is that it is a new install of the Foresight software on the new computer so something might be different in the new version versus the old version. I notice that the startup splash screens and the opening menu backgrounds are different between my old computer and my new computer. The older software build works just fine, the new software build that I just downloaded from their website and installed is the one that has this problem.
If anyone has experienced this kind of audio to video latency specifically with the newest build of FSX 2020 I'd love to know, especially if you fixed it and if so how you did it.
Thanks!
Steve
