I posted this video on the HB forums for one of the designers, Rod81simo, as he requested a play through of his Congressional CC course (don't think he knew that we just played it as one of our tournaments). Played the full length, Saturday version here. Figured id throw it up here as well for anyone who wants to watch the ridiculousness.
This was probably the best +1 72 ive shot and it was certainly not because of good shots from tee to green. This round got kinda hilarious to me by the end of it, I started off pissed about my bad shots but was laughing at the end at the craziness that kept happening every hole. I don't think ive hit more bad tee and iron shots in the last month. BUT......the title of the video has "The Par--ening" in it for a reason haha.
I don't think I hit a fairway until like the 16th hole and hit maybe 5 or 6 greens in regulation at most, but I just kept making pars! From the trees, bunkers, rough, you name it, it seemed like no matter what I would hit a recovery shot decent enough each time to get myself somewhere near the green and would get up and down over and over and over again haha. I will admit I was lucky for the 6ft gimmies. I was kissing the edge of that range a bunch, and im glad for it, hitting a 6ft putt on this course would have been like a 2 ft break each time haha.
Tough to pick what my favorite shot of the round was after all the recovery shots I hit but Id have to pick the last hole and the iron and putt to finally take one back from the beast!
