New Garage build questions.

Sorry in advance for the long winded msg!

Im based in the UK and looking for advice on my imminent garage sim build.

Room dimensions 17’ 4” x 17’ 4” x 8’ 2”

I already own a Trackman 4, gaming laptop and touch screen tv.

Below are my ideas/plans, please advise me if I’m off track or missing something.

1) Ceiling height issue - The roof is a truss roof so just plan on raising the ceiling at the hitting area only. I’m only 5’ 8” but have friends that are 6ft plus and would like us all to use it. any advice here appreciated.

2) The new imminent firmware for TM will aid my less than ideal room depth of 17’ 4”. Bearing in mind I’ll lose 1’ of space from screen to wall that only leaves 16’ 5” ish. This should be ok based on the new minimum dimensions coming in the new firmware. I’m going to use the garage wall on the right and build a stud wall on the left to create a 14’ 6” enclosure with a depth of 5’ and thinking a screen size of 14’ x 8” Any advice here would be great.

3) Flooring - I’m thinking of using 30mm MMA interlocking mats to cover the entire floor then cutting a 5’ x 1’ x 40mm high Tee Turf into the centre of the enclosure. Centre of hitting strip 9ft from screen. Then going to use putting turf on top of the mats and cut out round the tee turf. Would this be ok? Is putting turf ok as a stance mat? Anyone recommend a putting turf for this?

4) Screen - thinking of fixing a HD premium screen from www.hybridme.co.uk. Phil was really helpful and gave me some great advice. Using a slotted angle iron to fasten it to the 2 walls and ceiling. Want to be able to watch sports on it now and again. Does this sound ok?

5) Projector - From advice received I’m thinking using the Panasonic PT-VZ580. used in a 16:9 ratio! Based on a distance from screen of 15-16’ it’s would be ok for an image size of around 14’ x 8’. Due to the very low ceiling this would have to be over next to the left hand wall. Would this be ok or am I way off? Would there be any shadows caused by a player from the centre 9’ - 10’ from the screen?

6) Enclosure padding - What would be a good Acoustic panels to use here?

7) Lighting - I have no idea here so please advise if you can

8) Sound system - due to wanting to watch sports also what sound system can anyone advise?

Any advice or suggestions on any of the above would be greatly appreciated.
