I have traded up my GS Quad to the ceiling mounted Foresight Falcon which cleans up some cables and makes my retractable system easier to deploy - no dragging out GC Quad, plugging in cat cable and aligning to screen.. While I am doing that I would like to also simplify how I connect my aiming monitor (on roll-out cart) to my office computer (inside house 35-ft cords). The cart has an overhead drop power cord, DisplayPort cord (monitor) and USB B cable (keyboard & mouse). I have limited IT knowledge and after googling thought I figured out I needed to get a KVM dock (attach to cart) with overhead cable running to inside office while keyboard/monitor/mouse would connect to dock so just 1 overhead cable + power. All good ...
Except after trying to find this equipment, seems it is difficult to find a dock with cable that can go this length, provide 4K (monitor) and connection for USB ports for K/M. Also need to isolate this 4K monitor from the 2-non 4K;s in my office so I'll actually get benefit of 4K in garage. Right now I am duplicating one of the inside monitors to the garage monitor & projector. Like I said I am no IT genius and can't figure out how to get all these pieces figured out. If anyone has ideas, I'd really appreciate the insight.
