Spent a month thinking how to build it. The took a month to build over weekends and some evenings with no other help. I wanted a 16x9 so when I say budget keep that in mind. I have about $1000 in miscellaneous materials found discounted . That would be mats, Astro turf, curtains, net, wood and screen. I have a Dell Laptop with a NVidia 4070, Flights Scope Mevo+ Pro, and an Optoma 4k400stx. For clarity all these things were purchased auction for half price used off eBay. I will post pics and feel free to ask questions. I bought the screen material raw and the wife sewed the hems and I put in the grommets. I purchased 2 sets of room divider curtains used for the sides and the ceiling. the screen hangs from black pipe, the border is covered in sound deadening and Pipe wrap. I am right handed so built a 4 foot extended wall on right side. I have a 10 by 20 net above the curtains in the ceiling. the rafter also has a pipe wrap on the edge to prevent bounce back. Hardest part was projector placement, because it is a short throw you need to mount it in the exact right location. I used string and figured out the projection angles to all four corners to to get my position correct. i had to adjust once I decided on projector as the lens was right of center. the screen i took PVC conduit and put it thru the hem to keep some gravity on it and it brings it right back to its hanging position. i will be raising the floor in the summer adding 1" foam board and sing in a 5x8 pitching mat. I will cut out replacement strip and add sand and rough inserts as well.
