Ok, so I have access to some curtain track similar to this and it's a pretty great deal:
I plan on making a u shape that would have about 5 ft on the left, 16 feet for the hitting zone, and then I'm running a really long straight track to the back wall of my garage where I can store the curtain while not in use.
My initial thought is to use harbor freight mesh tarp, an old golf net, and perhaps a bed sheet all on this one track. I'm not able to find any weight guidelines for my track. I'll fasten it into the ceiling joists and the longest piece along the side will run paralllel to the joist. The ceiling is 11 ft high and I would potentially try to get the material up as high as possible to catch wedge shots.
Two questions:
1. can I expect that the curtain track can hold this amount of weight?
2. if I didn't want to add ceiling protection. How close would the hitting area need to be to the net if the net went up to 10.5 ft?
