That was a brutal round... I hit so many OBs that i felt like withdrawing. Oh well back to the drawing board. Need to figure out how to get more distance in my drives, not fun when I have over 200 into a par 4 on nearly every single one. Good for you guys that hit bombs!!!

In all seriousness though, I have had TGC 2019 for some time now and only recently joined the online society and have to say seeing the leaderboard and your scorecards is pretty awesome.
I'm having a blast eventhough i'm getting slaughtered out there.

The farmers is brutal because the course only has the 7,600 yard tee boxes (not sure why the designer would do that). Most tournaments are played at more manageable yardages. Stick with it, it will get easier lol. Also check out some of the other societies too like noonan and winter league.

It's a good version too. It's the only long one I use. It's a beast.

That was the toughest round I've ever played! Combine a bad night of ball striking with 350 yards to the hole on my second shot made for a tough night. 3 pars in 36 holes LOL!!!!!!!!!
I thought I'd have a decent round as I can hit driver pretty good. But my 250-270 yards off the tee was no help. Looking forward to the next round.

Is this version based on LiDAR? I am kind of surprised that no one has created a newer LiDAR version of this course yet. It would be great to have a proper version of this course with more manageable tees.

I also see that the North course is splined out on OSM but I don't see that anyone has made it yet. Any idea if anyone is working on it?

I don’t think it’s lidar. I think it’s ported over from TGC1.

Yeah, definitely time for an upgrade I think. Since there has been a lot of tournaments there and lots of video, you would think it wouldn't be that difficult.

OK, so have started working on a LiDAR upgrade to Torry Pines North and South. I have pulled LiDAR for both courses and had to shift the course a bit to get the ocean and the sun showing up on the correct orientation. I kept a lot of the LiDAR intact in order to use as much of the rugged terraiin as is. This course has 5 sets of tees ranging from 5373 - 7802 so hopefully something for everyoone.

Still a lot of work to go but I have a foundation and was able to playtest 9 holes on South tonight and it was quite fun. I have completed the pins and tee boxes for the rest of the course this evening and will give it a play test as well. Then need to work on cleaning up everything and planting.

It should be a fun little course to play so I hope that I can get it published before too much time. A few pics are below.
