As I posted earlier, I am considering purchasing a SkyTrak unit. I am living in Japan and they do sell the SkyTrak unit here. It also has a setting in the Japanese app for language so I can change to English. I went to a local golf shop yesterday and it was pretty cool. In Japan though, the SkyTrak, seems to have limited functionality compared with that in the US. For example, speed settings are in meters per second rather than miles per hour. I couldn't find a way to change that setting.
Also, from what the guys at the shop are telling me, there doesn't seem to be any kind of simulation option with the Japanese version, only Practice and Challenges, and Game Improvement. My question is, is this a hardware issue or simply a software issue. For example, if I were to buy the SkyTrak hardware here in Japan, would I be able to link up my iPad with the US version of SkyTrak app? Additionally, would it be possible to connect the SkyTrak to WGT? I have downloaded WGT and was able to turn WGT on in the profile options.
I guess I can try to connect my app to the shop's SkyTrak to know for sure but don't have the play and improve account yet so was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this. I would assume that if I could connect my US SkyTrak app to the hardware unit here, that it should also work with WGT, right?
