Got the OG Skytrak with the new App and brand new iPad Air (M3) - but ‘Direct Mode’ disconnects every 5 mins or so, and is such a faff to close the App, turn off Skytrak, turn back on, connect iPad to home Wi-Fi, log into Skytrak on the App, connect iPad to Skytrak Wi-Fi, then get going again. Even if that all works without several reboots the connection just drops again. For example, after every ‘long drive challenge’ the connection drops after the 3rd shot, without fail.
I’ve had the OG for 2.5 years. Initially it was with the older App and an older iPad - did have quite a few connection problems. Then I dug out an old Windows Laptop and USB mode was rock solid for 2 years. But, the new App with its new features tempted me to upgrade my iPad (didn’t fancy gaming PC as iPad more versatile with work and kids) but low and behold the old connection issues are back. Sim is setup in the garage and home WiFi difficult to boost out there, so Direct Mode is my best bet I think.
Think my options really are:
A. Find a permanent fix to the Direct Mode connection issues, if one exists
B. Go back to the trusty Laptop and Skytrak Lite App, but miss out on features in newer app
C. Wave goodbye to Skytrak and go for a Square or GC2 (budget means I’d want to keep to under £1k if possible)
So fed up with SkyTrak right now so probably edging towards C…
