Unfortunately, it seems like TM also does not seem to support the use of AMD processors. I understand that this is due to the fact that they do all their testing with Intel. Given the current lay of the land, it seems like AMD is the processor to get and Intel seems to lag behind a bit. Thus, making a decision to upgrade at the moment becomes very difficult as my choice would be to use a Ryzen 7.
has anyone else considered the use of AMD or run an AMD processor with their TM?
I should note that I did just this afternoon pull my office computer and put it in my sim and everything seemed to function very well with my 3900x. I tested on the range and also playing a few holes and even used Tracy. Everything seemed to work fine.
The one comment that I would make is that I did test on Portland and once again saw the white flashes in the trees that I had experienced with my existing Intel rig. I contacted support on the issue and it appears to be an issue caused with the use of the latest GPU drivers. I sure hope they can fix it, but they did suggest that I roll back to an earlier driver. Still trying to decide if I will do this as I have only seen the issue on Portland, which is sad as it is a really nice course.
