SkyTrack Full Metal Jacket case - beta version available

I've made a case for my SkyTrack that I'm happy with - some of you have asked about buying one.

My kids want to commercialize it (12 and 15 year-olds - that watch too much Shark Tank) but for now I'm happy just to get some out to the indoor hackers that could use one.

I've put an item on ebay at $95 that covers the cost of making a batch of them (It also includes USPS shipping in the USA only.)

Included levelers adjust about 2 inches above the floor - if you want more, you can get regular 3-1/8-16 bolts.

I will make them and ship before January 15th.

Modified mine today. adjusted the holes slightly and tested. Works great. Never missed or miss read a shot. I have not hit any into the FMJ and won't be doing that on purpose, but very happy with the case. Very well made. I will be drilling some holes in the back where the lights are so I can see them from behind. I really do feel much better with having that case protecting my ST. Thank you for doing this.

Ours is working great with no mods. Curious, what modifications did you make to the holes on yours?

yeah, mine was, too - suppose why i missed the offset. Wondering - my sim room is fairly dark are yours? Misike pwade3 ?

So what I did was test it without it being screwed into the case. I moved it around to see if I had any room for adjustment if I had the holes out of alignment. Then locked it in place when I found the sweet spot that had no misreads at all. Turned it upside down and then marked where the holes need correcting. Mounted in drill press and drilled holes. Filed slots so they were even and then screwed ST to FMJ. I will drill three holes in back so I can see led lights from the back. It now looks centered in the case and has enough room from the case that a ball is no where near the ST lens if it hit one of the cutouts. I had slight misreads with the ST locked into the original mounting screw locations. They were slight but noticeable. Works perfect now.

I saw you mentioned that you were making an add on to the ST case to protect the lens better. Where can I find that?

Not sure that's going to come together - very difficult to align with the SkyTrak since it can float around in the case. Played with a design in the other thread.

Excellant service awisnia. I rec'd shipping notice from eBay approx 1pm central today. I have had sky trak for just a few days, and hopefully the fear of hitting same will be somewhat aleviated with your case. Coming from an optishot, I can readily see the differences in shot depiction between the systems. Although much different price points.
