  • TGC's shot analysis - mixed up?

I've just been watching some simulator videos with TGC and am confused by the shot analysis TGC is showing.

For example the shot at https://youtu.be/Bc_EJl4KhQg?t=2353 - hooked up to a GC2.

This shot was a slice in the game view. The overhead trajectory view below shows a slice. The spin arrow on the ball shows a slice. Even the swing video of ksman looks like a slice.

But the overhead clubhead path diagram shows 6° in-out path with the clubface 6° closed to this path. That's not a slice - that's a hook starting very slightly to the right (around 1°, a slight push hook). All right handers know to swing in-to-out for a draw, tennis players know in-to-out to hit a shot down the right tramline and draw it back in.

The shot analysis screen also says "Face relative to path" is 0.00°", yet the overhead clubhead path clearly shows the clubface is not 0° to it but 6° closed to it. Face relative to target line is 0.00°.

    What's going on?

Unless ksman has the HMT unit on his GC2, those clubface and path measurements should be completely ignored - TGC has no way to determine what they are. It'd be nice if ProTee would hide numbers that are neither measured or calculated.

Now if he has HMT or other club measuring tech hooked up, I don't know wtf is going on.

No HMT in the video. Is the ProTee interface here the culprit, with TGC just displaying what it sends? I haven't got one so can't tell what numbers show up in ProTee interface.

GC2 however measures horizontal launch and it measures spin. The amount of side spin can give a respectable indication of face angle to club path. Club face has to be open to club path to give slice spin, not closed like in the diagram.

The horizontal launch angle can then allow the club and its path to be oriented with respect to the target line.

I don't think it's possible to have two or more solutions of club face and path coming from the measured horiz launch and spin numbers.
