    Skytrak and E6 (demo)

Been testing the Skytrak with E6. Connection is easily done through wifi. Bill data is measured and fed to E6 using its algo's. Delay is about 3 seconds. Probably ok with most folks but those that expect it immediate may be annoyed. They are working on improving the shot to show time. Chipping works fine. No putting as of yet. One thing that is critical is having the unit exactly aligned to the target line. If off it will affect the horizontal azimuth. Right now they don't have the alignment assist option available within E6 but I suggest they allow it to make it easier to align. Overall however it works fine.

This is on the PC. Full pc version of E6. Not the cloud. Pc requirements are posted on the Trugolf website. Skytrak connects via wifi as usual.

Does it pass the eye test compared to your other sims?
Interesting that they are using the e6 algos. Do you find it noticeably different that your past experiences with the iPad skytrak algos?

Eye test? There is a good review of E6 and E6 1.6 in the Trugolf section. The E6 algo's seem decent but I haven't closely compared it with Optimal Flight. Visually I prefer TGC but E6 1.6 is improved over E6. Putting not yet working with Skytrak in E6.

Sorry, I meant compared to e6 with your gc2 flight. You have an eye for it and so I'd trust your view of whether the API is providing good data to e6.

I don't have a GC2. I use E6 at home with the Protee and now the Skytrak. I also use Trugolf E6 and Trackman at my home club. The ball flight with Skytrak and E6 passes the test in my opinion. The distances in E6 have always seemed a big long. Ball curve seems ok. Roll seems ok.

Since there is no putting with skytrak yet, how are you handling this in E6? Is it done through random generation of the software or can you input the number of putts once you reach the green?

E6 has an option for you to enter the number of putts once on the green. It comes up automatically and shows your putt plus a box to enter how many you think it would take.

Or you can let the software assign your number of putts, ie auto putt.

Bubba, any rough idea on when Skytrak and E6 will be publicly available?

I am really surprised that the cloud option is not available, both companies were really touting this at the PGA show as the route of the future. Kinda of difficult to justify spending more on the software than you do on the hardware device. I can only hope that this is just a first release and that the cloud will follow later.

                        Thanks for the info Bubba.

my daughter's swing coach has 2 trugolf simulators with E6. This year he was converted over to e6 cloud, and it's always down.

It does not surprise me when it took them over a year to release 1.6, which was supposed to be e6 ver 2 (I actually thought it was a fill in as they delayed ver 2 for so long, but then delayed this and are now touting it like it is ver 2).

Not sure when it will be ready. We are testing and improving some features. Putting will be soon added. The cloud option is another process. I think Trugolf is working out their server, Internet provider etc. etc. etc. From that they can determine the cost, how much play etc. I have no idea when that will be available. My feeling is they will offer the buy it outright before the lease (cloud), but just guessing.

Yeah, that makes sense, thanks for the update.
