Hi, I'm new to this forum and have found a lot of cool stuff on the site. If anyone has some advice or some past conversations that I should look at I would appreciate it. I was looking at buying a optishot but then found a skytrak for sale. The skytrak is coming today and I also have a used Viewsonic PJD5353LS DLP XGA 3D Projector coming. I founld some used 5x5 mats from a golf range that I am told are in really good shape. I am planning on building a retractable unit similar to this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anc-HAqCG-w. When I built my garage I pit 10' walls in with vaulted celings but this was an addition to the original garage which I would like to dedicate to the simulator. I can't put the simulator in that space for a while as I have a cabinet shop and it is my spraybooth. I also vaulted this portion and it has 7' sidewalls and is 17-6'w x 24' l but can only get a screen 8' tall if I go 10' wide. I'm not sure what size screen would be best but I thought that was very close to the 4:3 ratio for the projector. Also if anyone has some pictures of one they built similar to this I would love to see them.
