I'm finally getting to my golf sim area in the garage of my new house. Part of the worst news is mice got to my custom 10x10 green with offset hitting insert first, gnawing a couple edges and generally stinking it up. I'm shaking that off and cleaning it up the best I can.
Anyway, at my old place I used a combo of cheap foam tiles and carpet pad. It worked fine, but I had to toss those materials as they soaked up some water from our winters.
This time I'm thinking about doing 1"eva foam (there's about 1"difference between my green and hitting mat), or horse stall mats. I'm wondering if I should pair either of those with a dricore subflooring, or use only the dricore. Suggestions?
How about paneling? I'll have one wall to the right side (the side I'll face). I want it to be pretty clean. I'm mostly debating between gym mats (how do people mount these? I'm thinking waffle head bolts in the folding sections may work) or carpet mounted to some plywood. I'm really looking to cut back on noise as much as possible, and want to use the same material for the ceiling.
On my other side I'm planning to have a sliding curtain. Behind the screen I'm still trying to figure out how people are mounting moving blankets and mattress pads, and behind that in going to staple some acoustic panels to the wall.
I'd love some input, I'm thrilled to finally get things going again!
