I have been piecing together parts for a garage simulator. I got a good deal on an impact screen which measures 10'x8.5' so closest ratio looks to be 4:3. Curious what projectors are out there that would be in the $500-$700 range (new or used). I am reading I wont 3000 lumens or higher. Also seeing some say that a 16:9 projector that will display in 4:3 will be better then a 4:3??? I am getting a PC that will handle 1080P, I don't need a top of the line set up but just like a nice clear image that takes up the screen. Also thinking a short throw to avoid shadows but I have plenty of space if there is one that can be offset a little to avoid the shadows. It seems like ideally I would want a 4:3 laser short throw that is 1080P, which would be the best in my situation. Every video I watch or comment I read seems to send me in a different direction. A friend of mine has an 8x8 screen and he says he uses a 16:9 projector, long throw, with no issues.
