This is not the newest X3. As far as I know it's the same, except this one is a little heavier. As far as I know the features are the same as the new one, but a call to Flightscope may provide more details. There is a transfer fee that flight scope charges to keep the warranty and service plan going, but it's optional. I do not know if any transfer is needed for TGC, but the one I have works on the laptop. The laptop is a MSI gaming laptop, I'd guess about 5 years old. It has an Intel I7 core, and runs a Nvidia GTX1070 card. It has HDMI output to a projector and is in perfect condition. The X3 is barely used, in excellent condition. the backpack is made for this device, and holds the laptop the X3 and all the power cords. I'm selling this to sell it fast, as far as I can tell my price is well below anyone else. $5000 for everything. I can warranty that everything will work when you get it, but I cannot make any claims as to the transfer fees to keep the X3 and software running for you, you need to research that yourself.
