  • Want to Buy: One length irons

105-115 golfer that just got a skytrak. I hit my 7i and PW and 20° ping hybrid fairly consistently but everything in between is all over the place. Does anyone have a set of one lengths sitting around gathering dust?

Tom Wishon's Sterling Irons are an excellent single length set

Thanks for the suggestion. Not sure I am willing do go the full fitting/custom route just yet. Hoping to find a decent used set to see if one length works for me.

I have been playing the Wishon 575MMCs for the last 7 years. However I just made the transition to single length. He has come up with a new single length design called EQ1-NX.

Less offset throughout, higher COR on the lower lofts.

So I made the switch and picked up a set of cobra Speedzone OL irons, GW-5. Loving them so far. Picked up a 5h OL as I wasn’t feeling that comfortable with the 5i. Looking to pick up the 3h and 4h. Any one have experience with one length woods. Cobra doesn’t make them.

I'm going single length myself. I have a demo club of Wishon Sterling and EQ1-NX to try as well as the Pinhawk which is more of a budget club but is nice. It is kind of hard to evaluate from one club since the important part is how the extreme ends of the set work. However, I also got to try the EQ1-NX hybrid which I found to be really nice to hit. I think I am going EQ1-NX just because it seems like the best designed set. The Pinhawk is surprisingly nice and has the shortest club head design of the three which I like. I am not sure how they will go on the longer irons. If you can find a set of them, they are cheap.

For those with Cobras, does the different lie angles bother you? I somewhat understand why they chose to do so which is that they say even though they are the same length that players swing harder with the "longer" clubs and therefore flatten them out dynamically but I feel it could bother my eye. Maybe not an issue in practice..

The Edels, which are very expensive and what Bryson played prior to Cobra, can actually be found once in a while for reasonable prices on eBay but of course you lose the opportunity to have them properly fit for you. Still may be worth it in the right situation as if you can get the weights and a set of shafts that fits you you can customize them if you have the means or a builder near you.
