Cool idea, but $6 per ball (including shipping) is a little pricey, IMHO.

Nice idea - but surely you need at least 3 of each ball to be able to test it out and get a feel for it. What happens when you hit the first shot with a Kirkland Signature a bit wild into a lake?!

Good point, bigger pack or less variety?

A sleeve (3 balls) of each type of ball so a 24-pack. And agree w TorchRedRob, $6/ball a bit pricey.

GREAT idea, but agree price is way too high with shipping on top of it, but if you are pay retail prices in order to put the packs together I'm guessing you probably aren't making a whole lot of money with these packs priced as is. Don't know. Again great idea!

You got it MainStGolf... Thank you all for the feedback. Part of the problem is Ebay, they take 10% of the selling price. I need to figure out how to market/sell without Ebay.

If I went with a 24 pack as follows, I could get the price per ball to 5.22 and end up making $7 per case in profit (pre-tax, after Ebay cut).

From a golfer/sim golfer perspective, is this any better? If I can figure out how to do this outside of Ebay, could get it under $5 a ball.

Still bonkers IMO, who would pay that? You can just go to your local pro shop and buy a sleeve of whatever you're wanting to try out for far less $. I've gotten Titleist, Vice, and Bridgestone sample packs before in tournaments and that's always cool to try out their different offerings, but pay a premium for that? No way.

Thanks DFDubb , What's the price point that would make it worthwhile?

Sales will tell the story, but I think it's a tough sell at that price since people would really have to want all the models listed.

I like the concept but I think your biggest hurdle is that you can buy just a sleeve of balls on ebay already if you want to try something out. Just a quick search seems to show that you can get a sleeve of the titleist, taylormade, and callaway balls for $12 to $15 including shipping. You can buy a sampler pack of vice balls for $27 including shipping that gets you the pro and Pro plus (and two extra sleeves of cheaper balls). So the per ball price to put this together yourself is between $4 and $5 per ball.

Unless you buy balls wholesale to get your costs down, I think it is going to be hard to mark them up for ebay fees and shipping and still make a profit. I'm not even sure how much of a discount retailers are getting on big name balls. You never see them marked down too much in the store so they probably aren't making huge margins.

You're completely right. I thought from a sim perspective it would be cool to try a sample, and it would, but not at that much of a premium. I'm definitely not in the position to buy wholesale to get the price down. For now we'll call this a bust
