  • FS: Skytrak - brand new, totally unused [Australia]

Waited months to find a used unit in Australia as I didn't value warranty, support and pristine condition as I'm planning to open the unit up to analyze (I'm designing a launch monitor myself). In the end gave up waiting, bought a new one, then of course a few days a used one came up. So I bought that one too, in order to sell this one new.

Unit hasn't been registered to anyone yet, nor even turned on, so no transfer of registration needed like I needed to go through with the used unit.

Full warranty minus the few weeks. Also happy to give you support to get you set up and any help should you have any problems down the track. I'm an electrical engineer and intimate with the underlying technology - there are a few things I haven't seen documented, plus many things that took quite a bit of research to get the best out of this unit.

Happy to take you through playing online vs others, choosing a projector, software, screen choices, setting you up so you have no stretching, cropping or black bars regardless of your screen dimensions -- recommending the best solution for your circumstances without bias as I don't sell this stuff. Nor do I believe the projector, software etc I use is the best for everyone.

Also happy to let the serious buyer test out the Skytrak on my simulator and 3.6 x 2.4 m screen if you're local (Central Coast, NSW), but using the second hand unit I use as I wish to keep this one unused with screen protectors still intact etc. Happy however to ensure you see the unit you bought working while you're still here and set you up on your laptop, Android phone, iPhone or iPad. And of course on the very rare chance it has issues (I don't know yet), I won't take your money or tell you to contact Skytrak - it'll be my problem.

I paid AUD3140 and went to a lot of effort to get that price (can supply receipts) but realise I need to make it attractive at $2900 and absorb the loss. No rush to sell and I don't overprice initially to allow for negotiation, so firm on that. Due to the cost of the item and scammers, will insist on seeing ID and will provide my ID if coming to purchase.

Btw, I ended up selling this long ago. Just remembered about this post as I received an sales email from same place that gave you a nice face discount, saying:

"Our demo unit costs $2,700 AU dollars and brand new ones are $3,195 and both comes with a 12 months warranty and a basic driving range simulation capability. "

Also a friend who's a dealer of SkyTraks told me the price you paid is less than the price dealers would get it landed for - so are you sure you didn't get a demo unit?
