I have been only using my gc2 at the range but I am now looking to put together a home simulator. Will this give my the software I need to have a driving range program? Any courses? I know fsx is the new generation software and this is the previous generation but other than that I am a newbie at trying to piece a simulator together.

Yes, but if you really want good simulation, you might want to buy my tgc license. It's got over 100,000 courses and multiple ranges. FR1 will fit your needs, but will get boring quick. I'm selling TGC for same price. I'll even help you get it up and running with your GC2.
