Thanks to all interested I made a deal on the hawk .... just a quick question does anyone have experience with using PayPal .... the money was sent yesterday and now is on hold from my end I believe as I have not used my paypal acct in a long time ... I’m waiting for the acct verification the 2 small deposits to my acct and then a withdrawal .. I want to be fair to the buyer and send the equipment in good faith ... do I need to worry about the payment not going thru or does PayPal have the funds .. just a bit nervous to send before I have access to the funds ... any advice ?

Paypal frequently flags large transactions. They hold them for review before releasing the funds. I wouldn’t ship until the funds are released to your account. A call from the buyer to PayPal confirming the purchase should help speed up the process.

Just saw post #11, if PayPal now offers that service, then that could be why the funds haven't been released. I've never heard of PayPal providing an escrow service.

I use paypal a lot so my funds are always available immediately so hard for me to comment on your situation. As long as the small deposits/withdrawal go as planned there should be no issue. if paypal has the funds you should see the transaction in your account ( just not available for withdrawal yet) and it will be available to you in a few days.
Just make sure you either use paypal for shipping or attach a tracking number to the transaction. it is used as evidence that the items were shipped and delivered.

I would have pulled the trigger on this if i had not just bought a quad a week ago. this was a great deal. good luck

First, I paid the extra fee to do it as a buy-sell transaction through Paypal, so the money won't get released until I receive it. Second, Bouxy and I have been texting the last few days and he's sent pictures of him packing them up etc. I feel comfortable buying from Bouxy.

That's interesting, I've never heard of this type of service from PayPal. Is this new? They provide "seller protection" (usually ~3%), but that's fairly limited and they do not hold the funds.

First time doing a big transaction myself so I’ll keep you all apprised as it occurs so maybe we can all learn something. I’ll be selling my Flightscope Xi+ when this gets set up so I’ll get to go through it again. Package has reached ND in the US. Bouxy is in Canada, I’m in New England. I got a call from UPS to give personal info as I think I’m going to get smashed with taxes. Anyone done a Canada to US transaction and have to pay a duty via customs?

it varies by state. When I was ordering stealth screens from par2 pro they told me it could be as much as 180 x3 since there were 3 screens. other told me they never paid duty taxes.

from foresight sports I shipped it Friday I even payed extra for ups not to lose it ... and I believe it reached pembina ND
on Friday ..

the buyer and I have been in contact I believe we trust each other but neither of us have done such a large transaction
I have sent my equipment and have not received any funds as of yet it’s on hold ... so I hope all goes well for us both

To bring this to a happy conclusion...Package received from Bouxy today as promised. Paypal worked as expected. They held the money until I received the package today and released to Bouxy once I acknowledged that I received what I paid for. So I would recommend Paypal from a buyer's perspective on large transactions. Would recommend Bouxy as a seller, he was communicative and spoke on the phone and returned texts quickly. Maybe we'll meet up in FL to play some golf this winter!
