Want to Buy: GC2 Flash Module (not superflash)

My flash module has died. ForesightSport EU sent me a replacment but it is a superflash and so I need to upgrade the flash board.

I want to be able to use my unit over the holidays so am looking to buy a non-superflash unit.

Just need to get it fast. I am in London UK.

Why did they send you the wrong flash for your unit? What serial number do you have? Did foresight tell you not to use that flash they sent you?

They only have the one superflash model, as far as I can tell, the don't sell the other module anymore. They sent me the superflash, I installed it, reloaded firmware and drivers, still not working...no flash. Then they tell me that it is not working because I need a flash power board upgrade for £85. It is not the money, it is the horrible service. The tell me I have to ship my unit to them:

"Please note that we manage repairs on a priority basis, dependent on the order of receipt and the support level that you have. Our typical repair time is around 28 days, however it could be longer, in which case we will inform you accordingly. If you are a business critical customer and wish to use a unit whilst your device is being repaired, please let us know and we can arrange a loan."

They will not call me and they don't answer the phone.

So either
1. The new flash is faulty
Or
2. You need a new flash board

If it's #2 then I'm thinking no flash would work so getting non super flash would be a waste?????

#A9771 should have a flash board that could use a super anyway.

What am I missing here?

It is an N2 board. I think I need an N3 for a super flash. Am going to test board in the morning.

Turns out the UCC27533DBVR unit on the flash driver board is dead. So you were right, a new/old flash module would not have solved the problem.

It seems like we have very exoesive kit with no way to diagnose failures.

Anyone local just to plug-in a flash unit ( normal or super) that can test it for you?

No one that I know of. We are under COVID restrictions in London which makes it tricky.

I would have thought so. I sent him directions on how to open it and check though, and it has an N2. It is hard to know for sure what the cutoff is. I think at some point Foresight started upgrading them even when they got sent in for other repairs, so people with lower serial numbers may not have realized that theirs got upgraded. Maybe I need to do a poll of people with serial numbers in the 8000-11000 range who are the original owners and have never sent it in for any service and see if any of them are willing to check their revision to try and figure out who has the lowest serial number with an N3 board.

Andy I had a 7k series that for sure wasn’t the most recent one at one point.
