  • Scam attempt? Please HELP

Hey wanted to come to the forum and ask some very vital questions on what I should do for a potential fraud case. I paid this guy Scammer (pictures below) and it’s been 5 days since payment was received. I have asked him countless times for a simple tracking number and keep receiving messages of side track answers that have nothing to do with the questions I’ve asked. I hate to put people on blast but he seems very fishy and I’ll update the forum if he does send the unit. Maybe this will finally get him on his high horse and send it but I’ve tried communicating with him and I’ve got nothing by side tracked texts back. Maybe y’all can help me by sending him messages too idk haha. But so far it seems I’ve been scammed and will need to move this forward. Like I said hate to do this but sadly the world we live in where people like this exist and it’s hard to trust anyone. Thanks for answering and hope we can find a solution. I would be very cautious if you deal with this guy in the future. Name again is Scammer thanks.

Sorry that you are having troubles. Could you provide some details, because, few things are left out. Example, when I search for Scammer, that person has 0 posts. So did he DM you and that is how you two connected to do the deal? Also, how about name, number, address, and such, do you have any of his info besides the Scammer? Finally, hope you paid via Paypal or something that has some type of protection against fraud so that you might be able to get your money back.

He sent me a pm. Unfortunately I don’t have any other information. I was new to this forum cause I heard of it from ebay or swim thing of that sorts. So I don’t know. Hopefully he ships it. I have emails he said to send to.

Shop indoor golf is a legit business =

Find your golf simulator at The Indoor Golf Shop - the leading supplier of indoor golf simulators, launch monitors, SIGPRO golf mats, enclosures, and more.

The question is .... is this person with the "shopindoorgolf" user name affiliated with that company in any way? Or is he just using that name in a weird sort of copycat way? Is it possible that you heard of "shop indoor golf" (the legitimate business) but got that confused with some random guy using that same name?

Well I was familiar with the name and wasn’t sure if he was with the company or not cause he kept referring to his staff and such. Then I asked if he had an online store or platform and he said no. So I just thought it might’ve been a name he picked idk. I’m just very frustrated right now

No with being new I sadly did not. I had no idea what I was doing and paid through Zelle. Now looking around I realize that it was probably a mistake. I don’t even know what to do right now. I’m so stupid

CW2231 i'm not very familiar with zelle, but if payment was direct from your bank account, call your bank, if it was from your credit card, call them. Not sure if they can help but worth a shot imo.

CW2231 --- I might be a bit concerned if I were you. I'd probably contact your bank and explain the situation and see what can be done.

3on3putt I’ll try my best. He’s been active today according to his profile but have heard zilch from him thus far. I guess the string of bad luck continues for me..... smh

Not an encouraging sign. Run a google image search of that photo he sent of himself and see what turns up.

      Good find.

CW2231 31 -- was Chad Wise the name he gave you? And was Nebraska the location? This feels like an episode of Catfish lol.

Doesn’t ring a bell but that’s where I’m from so that’s weird. He kept asking where I ship. Where do I ship. Then to use a picture from where I’m from is dumb IMO. May not be as dumb as the mistake I may have cost myself but atleast this is kinda something to laugh at haha

UPDATE: The person was was trying to scam me for some reason sent me an email that was not even attached to the guy. The person I sent the money to wasn’t even the guy I was talking to so I sent an email to this person thinking it was them and they informed me that they weren’t the guy and had no affiliation with him. They were suspicious on why money was transferred to them so they kept it because they weren’t sure what it was from or who. Thankfully we got it all sorted out and got the money back. I know I’m new to the forum and with seasons coming into full swing no pun intended PLEASE be way more careful than I. I was desperate for a device and should’ve been more careful. Learn from my mistakes and please don’t make them. You probably won’t be as lucky as me. As far as the rest goes I’m still looking for a unit haha. Thanks for all of your help and have a good one!

Have you ordered a unit yet or are you waiting for a used one?

Very happy to hear that this all worked out for you. If you are looking for a used unit, I would stick to those that list here. There are always a few that come up each month and I am sure that one will come up in the coming weeks. Once you find someone, check around to see if they have a history here and you can always contact the manufacturer to check that the serial number belongs to them.

I am sure people here could vouch for others if they have dealt with them before as well.
