  • For Sale: Foresight GC2 / HMT / FSX bundle

    Hi all…

I’m currently on holiday for New Year, but when I get home on the 5th Jan, I’m going to be listing this on eBay.
I’ve typed out the listing, but thought I’d post it here first to see if there’s any interest.
I was going to list it as £4350 or best offer.

I’m in Aberdeen, Scotland and can demonstrate the kit if required. I’ve been a member here since before I bought it, and you can probably see the history of my buying it all if you were to look through my posts here!
The eBay ad will have more photos - but here’s a couple of photos I already have along with my listing…

    Foresight GC2 A / HMT / FSX 2020 + FSX PLAY ( GOLF SIMULATOR Package)

This is a listing for a Foresight GC2A / HMT, software and accessories.

You probably know what the GC2 does if you’re looking at this… but if not, here’s a quick summary.

The GC2 has 2 x stereoscopic cameras that take a photo around 1000 times a second. When you hit the golf ball past it, the GC2 analyses these photos and figures out where the ball would go from its speed / spin etc. Clever stuff! The HMT does a similar job, but measures the club face / path.

If you’ve ever watched any of the golf majors and seen the pros on the driving range, they’re all analysing their data using the QC Quad. This is the successor to the GC2. A lot of Youtube golfers use it too - Rick Shiels, Mark Crossfield etc - as the GC Quad is considered the ‘gold standard’ for analysing. Accuracy wise, there’s not a lot between a GC2 and GC Quad - certainly not enough for the average golfer to notice.

I purchased the GC2 from Par2Pro in Canada at the end of 2014, had it delivered to my friends house in Houston. He hand carried it back to the UK for me, as it was $5000, but about £6000 + VAT at the time. The unit is not region locked, so good for use worldwide.

A couple of years later, I purchased FSX simulation software from Foresight for $2500. Another couple of years later it was $500 to upgrade to FSX 2018, and then in 2023, another $500 for FSX Play.

In 2018, I ordered an HMT from Foresight USA to my friend in Houston, and again he hand carried it back for me. Again, this saved me about £2500 compared to the UK prices.

So there’s the history... now here’s what I’m selling!

    Foresight GC2 A unit.
The serial number is 86XX so is one of the higher numbers. The ‘A’ at the end of the model number indicates that it has internal bluetooth (older units didn’t have this), so can be used with GSX - allowing use with TGC, GS Pro, E6 and other simulator software if you desire.
It’s in good physical condition, apart from the locking ‘foot’ has cracked (see pics). It makes no difference to the use of the unit.
The other issue is that it DOES NOT work on battery. This isn’t just a dud battery - even with a new battery, this device won’t work on battery. It works perfectly on mains power with no battery connected.
No issue if you’re using it indoors in a simulator… but not much use for taking to the range unless there’s a plug nearby. It may work with a power bank, but I haven’t tried this as of yet. Complete with UK power lead and adapter. It has a super flash fitted at the moment, and comes with the spare unused flash that was supplied new.

    Foresight GC2 Protective Cover
An ABS plastic cover to go over the GC2 to give it a bit of protection should a stray ball hit it. It has hooks for an alignment stick to ensure you have the unit square to target. (Alignment stick not included).

    Foresight HMT unit.
Great condition, and not had a lot of use. More often than not, I used the GC2 on its own without the HMT. Comes with 2 cables (1 is a spare) and an official Foresight ‘dot’ dispenser. The dots are required on your clubs to pickup the ball position on the face, as well as club path, angle of attack etc.
Supplied with all brackets and screws to fit the HMT to the GC2.

FSX 2020 and FSX Play software + 25 courses.
I have just upgraded to a Foresight QuadMAX, which comes with a mandatory purchase of the above software, so I have a ‘spare’ licence. Foresight have advised that there will be no transfer fee provided the new user is in the UK. They would have to register an FSX live account, then I have to email my contact at Foresight, who would assign the new licence to that account.
To buy this alone for a Foresight product would cost £3000+VAT!

    Hard Case.
A Peli case custom fitted for me by a local company. Specifically designed to fit the GC2 with the HMT bracket attached to save the extra time of assembly. My kit lived in this case when not in use. Slots for the protective cover, power adapter and dot dispenser keep everything together, and there’s a cutout in the lid which I used to keep a iPad Mini in for if I was taking it to the range.

    Foresight Cradle.
Official Foresight cradle, with additional arm custom welded on to allow support for the HMT. Useful if you have a raised mat.

      Now listed on ebay.co.uk
I've put it on at £3800.
I don't seem to be able to edit my post anymore, but I noticed I've put 1000 photos per second, but it's meant to be 10,000 photos per second!

Due to lots of requests on eBay, this has been split. HMT sold.

Software now sold on eBay too. Just the GC2 left to go. Seems there are a load of these on eBay now at around £1200 - 1600 mark, so it may not get snapped up quite as quickly. Units like the Square, Mevo and MLM2Pro have really made the price of the GC2 drop.

The good news is that I got almost the £3800 I listed it on eBay for just the HMT and FSX (only £77 short), so splitting it up was definitely the way to go 👍
