    Buying used Flightscope questions

If you're buying a flightscope with the original owners iPad and apps, is it necessary to transfer the unit to you?

    My situation:
Buy a used Xi+ for approximately $4,500 CAD with iPad and apps

Buy a pre-owned Flightscope directly from Canadian Rep for $4,500 USD (approximately $5,800 CAD)

    Anyone care to chime in?

Are you asking which option to go? I just purchased a Xi Tour in Canada.

There is a $500 or $1000 transfer fee on a used one. I've also heard it's good to have warranty which the user one likely won't have.

Well, I just want to know if buying a used unit from someone else will still allow me to use it without having to pay the transfer fee.

Or, is the transfer fee really important for future updates, etc.

Essentially, when broken down, both units will almost cost the same, if you include the transfer fee in with the used unit I could buy from someone.....

I've heard $1,000. I'm also located in Canada.

The warranty is what I'm worried about.

The owner of the used unit does say that he has the original android app on file, which would reveal club data.... .

Nevermind, I'll just order via Flightscope. The other guy sold it.

To answer your question, no you do not have to transfer the ownership unless you actually need any support work done on the unit. (Can even ask questions of their CS without officially transferring ownership).

Thanks! Unfortunately he sold the unit, after agreeing to sell it to me. He went with a local buyer instead of shipping it. I understand that.
With that said, I went ahead and purchased an Xi+ unit from Flightscope.

I went authorized pre-owned for $4570USD including shipping. However, it was purchased in Canada via the rep. I know the guy and he had a small amount of wiggle room as I believe it is listed as $5000USD for a pre-authorized unit.

Are you looking? Where are you located?
