Hello I own and use a flightscope xi+ indoors. I have the machine set 11ft to ball and the ball flies 16 feet to a net. Works great for yardage carry but once I get into the 3 hybrid and driver I can’t get a carry over 200 yards. Outdoors it’s at least a 230 carry with a driver. Club speed shows 96 mph. I have a buddy over who is a scratch player with the same issue. 180 yards and longer everything reads short. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Gary

It’s now set at 9 feet radar to ball and it’s set at 2000 elevation. I live in Vegas. Didn’t make a difference. Not sure what’s going on.

The door is behind the net and insulated the door is also up when I hit. I hit into a black archery net with a brown tarp behind that just in case

If I were you I would download Optimal Flight's non commercial license for only $9.95 for a year so you can input your data. With ball speed, launch angle and spin you will find out for sure what is going on.
But before you do that:
Are you using the pc software or the tablet? You need to know whether your unit has picked up the spin value or not after each shot. On the pc software you can activate the asterisk for when it's an estimation of spin. Not sure if you can on the tablet or not at this point, you didn't use to. If this feature isn't activated then it will show the spin value like it has captured it while it was an estimation. And unfortunately Flightscope's algorithm is terrible at estimating your driver spin with medium to high launch shots. It will consistently estimate 4000rpm plus values on drives that have 15° of launch angle or more. Here's 20 to 30 yards for you right there.
And as far as ball speed is concerned you should check if your smash factor seems normal or not, if it's normal then it looks like ball speed is fine and it is something else. Spin is definitely the first thing I would check, I have 24' of ball flight and every once in a while it will not get spin and give me that silly estimation and sure enough the drive is ridiculously short.

Thank you! Using it plugged in off a laptop instead of an iPad Seems to be working way better. Carry distances are similar to outdoors. Scratch golfer buddy came over and his carry distances were close. It does lose connection a few times during an hour Not sure what that’s about but when it works it’s accurate. Thank u!

Great happy to hear that!
That connection problem also happened to me before, it was a faulty usb cable, wasn't using the actual cable that came with Flightscope unit, was mistakenly using my gps one! Hours of trouble shooting with Flightscope patient customer support helped me figure it out.
So you may want to check the cable and or also try a different usb port.

"Using it plugged in off a laptop"
Please clarify.
As I understand it the mini USB port on the xi's is to be used to connect the unit to a computer for remote maintenance only.
It has nothing to do with the normal operation of the unit.
I am very interested to confirm that you can connect this way.
Maybe turn off the laptops WiFi and see if the xi will connect with the cable.

I wrote that incorrectly. I did connect xi+ with a cable from xi+ to laptop for remote support from flightscope. I use the skills app on my iPad any other time. I was having distance issues with longer clubs. Long story short, indoors keep the ball in the exact same spot for the most accurate readings. IMO 😄

This used to be the case before but not anymore, for the last three years or so you can connect your xi plus to your computer via mini usb cable, they made the change so one could use the pc software even with xi. I have been operating this way ever since and this allows me to to use the tablet in the listener mode on a second screen when I want to, through wifi.
