  • Homemade dolly for quick left and righty swap

Since i have a narrow space i need a simple way to swap righty and lefty with my Mevo+ and here is the first prototype.

The rails are 16 mm polished stainless steel. Then end-stops and the dolly is 3d printed in a material called Ultrat which has an even surface and low friction. My idea is to eliminate moving parts like bearing and wheels. The reason for that is that the dolly need to have a very low profile and no blocking metalparts.

The rig do not need any tools to be assembled and can be dissembled for easier storage and transport. I am not 100% certain this will be doable over time and it might need some epoxy when the plastic get some wear.

The dolly itself is 3 parts and the two "sleds" can be swapped for an other pair of sleds and then you change the tilt on the mevo for simplay.

In the clip you can see how easy it slides from side to side.

Nice job, that is very slick. Seems a lot easier than picking up and moving a skytrak or gc2 for L and R usage.

I have previously printed these and sold them for production cost but it just took to much of my time.

So now i share the stl-files and if the recipient wants he/she can donate 10 euros as a token of appriciation. If you chose not to donate i will not out you :-)
If you donate you will get access to any updates i may or may not make too the device. To be honest, in its simplicity i think it works great all ready.

PM me your mail adress and i will send the files to you,

I'm a new member and am planning my garage simulator build right now. I have been looking for this exact thing as we have both left and right hand players in my family.

Does anyone have the capability/desire to print these for me? I am willing to pay for the file/your time/the actual item/etc. Please let me know if you have the want/desire to do these for me.

Thanks all, so much great information on this forum!

Did you ever figure out a solution? I'm in the same boat.

Looking to do something similar. The 2024 version comes with what looks to be a camera mount screw hole (not sure if previous models come with the same threading). Considering using one of the camera dolly prints already available, just need to buy appropriate metal tubing. If I end up making a specialized print that doesn't use the screw hole, ill post them here.
