So of the videos available and the written reviews it seems that ball flight of the MEVO+ is perfectly fine. There was one video showing opposite ball flight with all other parameter looking good. The video was removed from YouTube. Those that have the MEVO+ already. What are you experiences? Compare it to other systems if you can. Thanks

I have an ST and Mevo and I have not seen this reversed path issue. Got a couple of hundreds of savings to compare. The unit is rock solid.
the only downside I seen is high spin numbers on driver and chipping in sim-mode feels some what shaky.
i don’t putt in simulators so I have no clue regarding putting.

So the problem is officially reported. It is in the hands of Flightscope. I say that so everyone understands they have tested and seen the same issue in their lab and have contacted E6 for them to address the problem. The issue is being worked on by the two companies.

Exactly... I only see the issue in E6, and that was confirmed by Flightscope support as well for both the Mevo+ and the X3... here's the response I got from Flightscope support this morning after reporting it and providing some screenshots from E6:Originally posted by Harkerad View PostSo the problem is officially reported. On the shot that goes right, our spin axis is giving "xxx RPM (R)" while the E6 data returns "xxxRPM (L)", and spin readings that differ by a thousand+. We did the testing with a MEVO+ and X3.
I will follow up with E6 about our findings and see what their feedback is."

Yes.. metallic sticker being used. Good point on the club selection... to be honest, having never used E6, I didn't know you needed to select a club.. as I didn't plan to save the data using E6..
I'll have to try that later tonight and see if it makes a difference!
-
@GunhHoGolf just wanted to say, last night on E6 range, selecting the club made a difference... hit my 8i several times, got the same results of random 2000-3000 spin shots when Driver was selected in the E6 app. I switched the club to 8i in the app, hit about 20 shots and not one under 4300 or so rpm, all were in the 4800-5800 range as anticipated... wanted to thank you for the tip!

But if you have to select club that is an indication that it’s calculating some numbers rather than reading them. Backspin isn’t supposed to be calculated. Curious?

Fact: reduced bandwidth on the radar and reduced size of the antenna/device means reduced beam width. The beam on Mevo is very narrow.
I would assume the choice of club has to do with adjusting the beam for different launch angles and also putting some calculation filters in place in the algorithms to increase calculation speed and support in non consistent reads. I think the device both calculates and measure the same datapoint.
-
Agree about selecting a club so it looks in the right zone for the ball, but that should be for preventing read or non-reads. Again that shouldn’t affect numbers. If I say 6 or 7 iron and that changes the number then I’m a little concerned. But my experience with the original MEVO indicates that isn’t the case.

To the one comment above, in using my TM over the years,I have never selected the club when playing sim golf (with the exception of putting off the green). The ball flies the distances I expect, and can confirm that e6 club selection usually differs from what I am playing.

I did several videos all flight has been great. e6 has an issue showing the L/R spin being opposite but has no affect on the ball flight or data. Putting is being worked on as we speak. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...KoXd-FlhfSLOrI

Update: There was a second owner that reported issue with Ball Flight and he found the issue. His alignment only was to the tee and not also to the target on his screen/net. The camera alignment must be done so that the camera aligns with both the tee and the target point you are aiming for. This was causing that person the reverse ball flight issues and is not resolved. The other one has reposted his videos on YouTube (Philip Stewart) and has not found a reason at this time for his bad ball flight. He had only borrowed the unit so I'm not certain he can retest after maybe rechecking his alignment.

That may have been me. My horizontal launch numbers are resolved after better aligning the "line" on the boresight camera to both the ball, and through to my intended impact point or target on my screen.
I do still have issues with right spin axis. I feel it is exaggerated... I've now hit hundreds of shots, and I have a very small percentage of shots with right horizontal launch angle, and a left spin axis. I have many many right HLA with Right spin axis, many Left HLA with Left spin axis... and many Left HLA with right spin axis...
Getting a push draw is a bit like a unicorn for me right now on the Mevo+, and it's my stock shot...
I just went through my data the last few days... and counted up some of my sessions:
568 shots with 8i, 7i, Driver mostly
only 39 of those shots had a Right HLA with Left spin axis, ie: push draw.. that's under 7%
Also important to note.. of those 39 shots... only 4 of them had a right HLA over 2 degrees... 2.9 being the highest right HLA.
I find it hard to believe my stock push draw is only read 7% of the time.. unless my swing is really out of whack. I mean I have to reeeeallly sling one out there to get a draw to show up with a start line right of center.

Another video from these guys is up: https://youtu.be/MZs_n8Kcccg
1) could this be a faulty unit? I have seen other videos where push draws are picked up..?
2) could it be setup or environmental?
3) could it be the view? In the Scott Hogan videos he was showing the ball simulation view but these guys only show that offline view.

I've hit about a hundred balls so far (10' behind, 10' ball flight). Here are my initial thoughts.
1) I'm not seeing the inconsistent ball shape from the GCQuad vs. Mevo+ video. I hit a super consistent push draw so that video had me worried. I'm able to reliably hit low hooks, push draws, pull draws, push fades, pull fades without seeing anything close to what they were seeing in that video.
2) You must use the stickers for wedges or carry is exaggerated due to a complete lack of spin. Stickers may be essential for all clubs but I'm still testing and wedges seems the most exagerated.
3) Ball speed is 3-5 MPH faster than what I was seeing in SkyTrak.
4) I have yet to get anything working with E6. This integration feels gross (it's my first time trying to use any integration) but hopefully my mind changes when I get a range working.
5) Battery life is absolutely going to be an issue.
6) Setup is clunky but alignment feels better than SkyTrak. The line down the middle of my net very accurately predicts whether a ball starts left or right.
7) Driver spin is inconsistent. I'm in the 158-165 MPH range.
More thoughts to follow as they come up.

I hit tons of balls today and some more thoughts.
-More of the same with spin axis--things look very consistent and correct for my usual ball flight.
-I owned the SkyTrak for 2 years and always felt like I was being robbed of ball speed with my driver. I think in those 2 years I topped out at 165 mph a handful of times and my average was much closer to 150. Today I was averaging around 162 and topped out at 169.
-Aviara is annoying course to play--at least from whatever tees I was playing.
-In E6 I was carrying the ball further than expected with my wedges--spin looked good.
-Setup with E6 is really annoying. You need to: 1) login to E6 with wifi on 2) Open FS Golf 3) Pair and align 4) Go back to E6. Maybe there is a better way?
I'm super happy with Flightscope. For a product that has been out for a couple months, this thing looks very promising!

When setting up E6 on the main menu go to the blue box in the right corner for settings, then select the simulator tab. Once you select flight scope hit configure and there you are able to align the camera from the E6 app. To quickly play I just connect via WiFi to the mevo then play as a guest so not to have to login to my E6 profile
