  • Infrared Garage Heater

I need to get a heater installed in my garage in preparation for a long, cold Canadian winter where I'll be spending a lot of time in my garage playing sim golf.

The heater I am looking at is an infrared natural gas tube heater, supposedly the most efficient and cost-effective way to heat your garage. This heater works by heating objects in the space as opposed to the space itself. Does anyone have any experience with this type of heater?

My biggest concern is if this will have an effect on my Mevo+. Does anyone know if it does?

    Thanks!

I'm also in Canada with a garage simulator, and just installed an heater to get ready for the colder weather. I also went through evaluating all the heating options. I was tempted to go gas, but reality is that it would be many, many years before it would break even...

I ended up installing an small electric heater (CCC Comfort Zone Industrial Steel Electric Ceiling Mount Heater - only $160 on Amazon), and then installed the SteelPro Maestro thermostat so I can control it from you phone, schedule, and even track heating costs.

I was concerned about interference with the fan, but have to say there has been no issues.

Thanks for the top. that sounds a lot more reasonable than the path I was going down. Cheers!

Keep in mind if you go with this setup, the heater has a switch to set 3K, 4K, or 5K watts. Make sure you ducktape/glue the switch to 4K watts because that's the limit for the SteelPro Maestro thermostat Subtle detail, but you don't want to fry it....

I too live in Canada... well, not actually. Minnesota, so close enough, eh?

This last weekend I just had a 45,000 btu Moline heater installed. It does have a fan, but don't think it should be an issue. It shouldn't be near where I'm hitting balls. I figure if there are any issues I can warm things up and turn it off when I play if the fan on the unit is an issue.

I want electric, but don't have 240 in the garage. So I have a big buddy propane heater. It works well. I have not tried it with Mevo yet, but its 4 feet behind and 10 feet to the side of the Mevo, so don't think it will be an issue.

I have a 240v plug for my car charger. Anyone know of a system or switch where I can alternate the power to go a heater instead?
