Mevo+ crazy LA for chips and other short game issues.

When the ball speed gets below 25mph, LA seems to increase by 20-50%, sometimes even more. I have confirmed that there not any electronics running ahead of the unit, not even the projector. LA on full shots seems really good. Am I missing something? My ball flight of choice on a 20 yard chip is about 25-30 LA ..... The Mevo+ mostly shows 40+ LA. Other times it will show the correct LA.

The next thing is spin axis. On short chips with less than 4 yards carry.....I like to cut across the ball to generate more spin. IRL ( if I have the right lie) I can see the ball skip left after hitting the green. On my new putting green, it also skips left. SA sent to the game is either right SA or 0. I know that SA means nothing on a short chip like that....but I found it odd. SA on 1/2 to full shots seems to be excellent.

On the bright side, I find that shots over 25 mph are excellent. Full shots seem to have the shape that I expect. When I hit it fat or pull it....it shows.

I have 8 feet to the tee and 12 feet to the screen. Maybe there is something in the set up that I am missing. Or am I expecting too much from a radar unit regarding short game? I have tried various angles from 10-18 on the unit. I have tried this on TGC 2019 and FS golf as well with similar results.

agree - get bizarre launches and unpredictable ball speed, particularly when trying to do a "soft flop." low chips with a PW much, much more reliable/realistic. i just noticed that i can sometimes get putts to read with a practice stroke (ball doesn't move), so i think that the mevo is somehow incorporating club head/path on putts and short chips rather than just ball tracking.

also agree that 15 yd and out, the mevo is excellent.

Hopefully, the short game is something that Flightscope can improve on. I am not that knowledgeable about the workings and limitations of radar so I am not sure what is possible and what isn't. To be honest, I didn't expect that the short game would even be as good as it is...... it is playable. You might not have all of your creative flop shots at your disposal, but you should be able to figure out how to chip consistently.....Overall, I am really impressed with the unit. I really only bought it to do side by side testing with some new systems that GSA is working on. The fact that I can take it to the range is a bonus.
